There have always been people dyeing their own hair, shaving their legs and painting their own nails. All would admit they cant make these things look anywhere near as good as us. My humble opinion (for what its worth) is that most areas have become oversaturated with salons. This recession will prove to be survival of the fittest, just as the last one was. I was a hairdresser in the last recession and know exactly how it felt then. Felt this one coming and cut costs to the bone. 3 salons around me have gone bust. Its really no different from how it was in '88.
