Very true, very wrong tho.

Pay her off quick,we all hate doing it, but it has to be done. If this was a member of your family you would expect her to get her entitlement wouldn't you?

I HATE doing final pay offs, they stick in my throat, but it is better to bite the bullet and be rid.

I'd get another lawyer :D

Payment is due for work done, of course (which you could then claim back as part of the dispute), but it's the notice period that is in contention here. Payment can be suspended/not paid if the contract is not fulfilled or completed.

But hey, like Persianista says - if it's easier for you: pay her, get her out of your hair.

um not sure you can really take the word of somebody from Citizens Advice Bureau to be honest, no offence. Just speaking from experience but went there recently to sort out a 10 year old council tax bill that we knew nothing about which had taken two moves later to find us and to be honest found them fairly clueless. As I said no offence but found them to be a load of old codgers with too much time on their hands who didn't seem to know an awful lot about anything to be honest – apologies if anybody on here volunteers for them or knows somebody who does. It was only when my mum's friend recommended I contact the Local Council Ombudsman that I was given proper advice and managed to pay the original bill outstanding and not all the charges from bailiffs who had visited a property we hadn't lived in for 10 years! Sorry went off a bit of a tangent there!

As persianista said, get rid asap but from my experience I believe that the correct advice would be to pay at the end of the month on your normal payroll.
