Weird request from client...

I have a lady who always has weird and wonderful things done to her hair but the latest request has stumped me. She has the hairstyle where it is short at the back and one side and left longer thru the fringe and other side (Frankie from the Saturday's?) what she wants now is one side of the back shaved very short with a couple of stars on that part. Unsure as to how to do this...can't clipper it too short as her hair is about a base 8 so worried that it will just looked bald rather than shaved but obviously can't leave the hair too long as the stars won't show as stars ( was going to use a stencil to do them) any advice would be appreciated! Ta muchly

I'd shave the hair to a grade 2 then do the stars as a 1/2 grade and don't stencil do freehand as it comes out better.

I didn't explain properly...she wants the stars done in a colour not shaved in

shave the sides, dye that dark, then either leave the stars out so they are lighter or colour them after!
thats what i would do!
