I have used Magma for several years. For the most part I love it but once in a while it flat out doesn’t work!
Latest issue - long hair, level 5, color treated hair. Client wanted highlights so I baliaged Magna /07 with 30 vol in meches. There is no reason why this shouldn’t work but it did not take at all.
Can anyone tell my why or anyone else had the same experience?
Product is maybe 6 months old and stored in a dry room. Over the last ten years this has probably happened 3 times. It’s getting frustrating.

Does the client have hard water at home?
I had a client who came every 8weeks for a colour touch 5/75 perfect every time. Back in the summer she wanted a few lighter pieces running through it. Took a strand test and used bleach and 6% didn't budge. Tried bleach and 9% still nothing. Then discovered that she had mineral deposits on her hair. So I used Malibu C hard water cleanse and then the malibu c makeover. then took another strand test and it lifted perfectly. Just some food for thought..
