Doesn't mean she likes me any less, or I like her any less! We're still the same people as the day before the haircut/tattoo!
Amen to that

Why can't people just accept others as they are and not try to make them something they're not?

Just because some people are different to us does it make them common? No!

Just because some people are different to us, does it make it wrong? No!

Each and every one of us are different, that's what makes us "us", unique individuals and not sheep that follow the crowd.

I have friends who have tattoos and friends who don't... they're special to me in their own ways and it's irrespective to me whether they adorn their bodies with tattoos or piercings.
I love them for who they are, not what they look like.

To view people on looks alone is a very shallow thing to IMO!

And in my case - extremely fortunate:green:

Well I love my tats and I wouldn't have had them done if I didn't.
I guess I'm unique in some ways but NOT to everyones tastes....each to their own.
Let me know if ya think I'm common ( I WILL NOT be offended!!)
Some have been done by Louis Molloy...before he was famous from Becks and London Ink and some haven't....it's my body so I do as I choose with it.

Judy, I think your tattoos are gorgeous, very professional, the one down your spine is striking. anne xx

I think tattoos can make you appear a bit chavvy . . and rightly or wrongly in this society first impressions do count a lot of the time eg job interviews. meeting your boyfriend's mum for the first time etc so tattoos could put you at a disadvantage in certain situations.

Some people do get carried away having more and more done, they seem to be addictive judging by some of my clients, whereas less is more as far as I'm concerned.

I've seen some very pretty ones but I wonder if that's partly as they were on young skin. As skin gets older and more wrinkly/sundamaged/saggy I don't think they'll look so good. Also I have seen some manky-looking faded ones.

Personally I wouldn't get one done, it's one more thing to maintain as you get older.

 well clearly I am a common chav then..........however they didnt think that when they interviewed me for working at clothes show live......have to wait and see what happens when I meet my boyfriends mum wont I.....

I had a semi perm tattoo done at a trade show 2 years ago and that I regret, not because of the esign or anything but because I believed it was just that, semi permanent, it now looks really scarred and not very nice....However I am planning a fab "real" tattoo cover up for it shortly!!:green:

I didnt think you could have them covered up cause its not ink they use for the semi pernament tattoos, its powder apparently, but i will defo consider havin mine covered if i can x i really want a tattoo on each wrist with my boys names x

Judy me and Wayne were looking at your tattoo's on your back when you were perched up on the bar at the event lol..
He was like "cool look at that..." (well in Wayne's scouse swear word way lmao, but basically yes we talked about your tats and we love um' lol)

I couldn't give a flying fig whether someone has tattoo's or not.. It would NEVER make me judge someone...
Sometimes if someone is overly tattooed I may stare...it doesn't mean I am thinking badly I just want a good look lol...

My mum and one of my friends have tattoo's they did with ink when they were teens...To me that reads a story about a time in their lives...
I wouldn't look at that and think "uuurghh disgraceful"

I like the little rows of stars people have, I would love those maybe on my wrist but I am waaaayyyy too scared lol..
Scared It will hurt, Scared I won't like it one day...

I would never be put of by someone with tattoo's,
To me its just like jewellry... Its an OUTER body thing...and its what INSIDE that matters...

I think stuff like this is a bit daft... its novelty will soon wear off, i think tattoos are best when they do tell a story or remind someone of something in their lives. afterall, they are with you forever, so it should be something you dont want to forget!!

Just founf this wee article:

The Ventura County Star recently reported on an issue that is important in the tattoo community – the lingering stigma about tattoos. As the article points out, tattoos are increasingly common even in professional settings. However, that doesn’t mean that jobs are happy with the fact that employees have tattoos. Obviously they can’t fire you for getting one while you’re employed with them but seeing them at a job interview can deter a person from getting hired. There are just certain settings where the appearance of the professional matters and many people still think that tattoos aren’t something that goes along with a professional appearance.
So, what do you think? Would you go through laser tattoo removal in order to be able to get a job? What if it was your dream job and the only way to get it was to get rid of the ink? Tattoo removal can be painful and it’s more expensive than getting the tattoo was, but would the cost be worth the benefits of a higher-paying job? It’s my personal opinion that if a career place isn’t going to hire me because of the tattoos that I’ve chosen to get, then it’s not a place that I’m going to want to work. But many people find that they don’t have a problem erasing the ink of the past in order to move forward in to their futures.

Each to their own, I guess; "trompe l'oeil" tattoos can look really fab, but I personally wouldn't want to commit to something quite that striking on my own body (doing something like that in body paint, getting some good photos and showering it all off afterwards would be cool though)...

"Hot"? As in inflamed, do you mean? Wow, that must have been quite a mission, for both you and your tattooist!

Well I very definitely would be insulted if someone thought my tattoo's made me seem "chavvy". I'm a rockabilly through and through, and rockabilly's are about as opposite to a chav as you can get. Lots of us have tattoo's, and they go with the lifestyle, clothes, image, etc.

I do understand that some tattoo's can look that way though, there's a guy I've seen around college with his baseball hat tipped up:rolleyes: and on his neck he has an offensive looking bulldog. It isn't pleasant at all in my opinion. However, that doesn't mean that he and his mates don't absolutely love it!

I love the look of model Cherry Dollface, she's got lots of tattoos, but I'll bet there's lots of people who don't like her look, and there's no problem with that! Here's a link to some pics of her, just for anyone who does like that kind of look. I think you'll agree, she's far far far away from being a chav or common!

Thought I'd take a look . . . I've not seen tattoos like that before, they are real works of art in fact she is a work of art in herself.
I'm not saying I'm converted but as you say she does look kind of classy.
I wonder what made her have all those done, if she started out thinking just one, or if she always wanted lots done to make an impact, and did she start modelling before having the tattoos or with them already done. Do you think it gets her more work?
