Started as a Steel Buyer at 17 and then progressed to Sales.

Did all sorts of sales jobs ended up latterly as a Call Centre Manager got made redundant and decided to completely retrain and haven't looked back

I was a nursery nurse & waitress! :)

After speedily running out of the school gates at aged 16(god that couldn't come fast enough for me) and before starting an Electrical apprentiship I took up a fill in job in a large paper mill near London as a general dogs body.....

well I have gone considerably up in the world as now live further north :lol:..

In so far as career...well still a general dog's body so I guess no change there then :lol:

Been PA/Office Manager all my life. Then I retired and went to college to train in nails. I have always loved them and haven't looked back! :)

After leaving school,i did A levels in dance and drama.....then bummed about a lot of my life, abroad, worked in clubs and bars of France and Italy....did a lot of hustling:eek:.....then after a lot of soul searching, landed a job in cabin crew for Air France for a couple of years...then decided i wanted to nurse....after training, did that for a couple of years....and finally went into beauty therapy....

Where do i see myself in 10 years???

Always aiming high....and being happy in myself:)

After school I did a year of A-levels then decided it wasn't for me.

I then went to college to study Beauty Therapy. Left college in the June, opened my salon in the November & 16 1/2 years later here I still am.

Things have certainly changed in that time, especially the amount of local competition.

A couple of years ago I did also have a part-time chocolate business but found it too much hard work for not enough recompense .

Currently I only do treatments when I'm short staffed so my role these days is more as a marketeer of the salon (soon to be 2 )

I left school and did Art and Design at college, didn't know what to do so took an apprenticeship in Hairdressing and loved it! Having quivers at the moment wether to carry on with it or pursue my beauty Level 3.
In ten years I would love to have a spa.........

I left school with not much, did mostly catering jobs. Moved to Bristol and had second son, became a single mum, managed a video shop for a while. Then went back to college got a levels in pyschology, history, geography and gcse's in maths and english. Did degree in pyschology, then meet second hubby and had 3 more children all girls. Then became a dinnerlady for 4 years, then lost my grandad, nan and dad in the space of 3 months. So re-thought life decided to something I wanted to do and mum joined me, finish my training in 2 weeks. I love this industry and can't wait to start working in it.:)

In ten years I want to be the best nail technician I can be.

I was a stay-at-home mum while my kids were small. Before that I worked as a secretary.

Ended up being a civil servant.
For many years.
Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

wow lots of ex nurses here!

After school despite wanting to do beauty I did my a levels then went on to do a degree in marketing.

After my degree I worked for a local radio station in Bradford for a year, then decided it was time to head back to Birmingham where I landed a job as a Marketing Assistant for a regional newspaper I've recently been promoted to Marketing Executive which is what I plan on doing for about another year or so. Then my plan is to start up my own business properly and put my degree and beauty qualifications to good use!

In 10 years time I will have my own business!

I was a contractor, I went in to accountants departments - set them up and moved on.

Then I became an accounts manager, personnel manager and payroll manager.

When my sister's children were old enough we set up our own interior design business which we ran for 6 years and had a ball

It all got too heavy physically so we sold out, looked around, and thats how I found myself here:lol:

I worked at Waitrose, warner village cinemas, Crabtree and Evelyn and Oxfam. I worked with horses alongside all of those jobs for about 12 years, then I moved over to Dogs Trust nearly 3 years ago, as a canine Carer, now the Volunteer Co-ordinator and I am going mobile very soon - once I have finished my training! I hope to be doing this full time in 10 years time but who knows! That is the joy of life, the unknown! I just want to work for myself for a while! Lol Lx

I trained to be a Chef and a Baker (4 years training in all).
Always worked in catering and hospitality (posh words for waitress and barmaid).
Worked in a nightclub in Cardiff - what a hoot!

Moved home to pay student overdraft off and soon discovered that I hated working for people and hated catering, so did my teaching certificate with the aim of going into the teaching side of it.

Always felt like a square peg being pushed into a round hole, never felt 'right' about any of the jobs that I did.

Moved from Wales to Durham 15 years ago and enrolled on a body massage course, have always done evening classes in A level English, Pottery, Maths, etc, so fancied a change.

OMG....what a change! My life has started at 30.

The year I turned 30, I miscarried, got married, left catering behind forever to go on Maternity leave to have Jack, became a mam, I then made a vow to pursue a career in holistics and ta dah! Here I am.

What I envisage for next 10 years is to build up my business and run a training academy alongside it. I would also like to travel with the training, so go on scouting trips to find new and exotic treatments, but also travel around the world training people in guru holistics.

Left school - worked in factory as sample hand/seamstress
? years later - went back to college to do secretarial exams
Secretary in Fashion Department for 4 years
Secretary in Nurse Training for 14 years

I went into and 4 year Engineering Apprenticeship at the age of 16, and very quickly specialised in Telecoms. I rose pretty fast through the ranks until reaching the pinnacle of my telecoms career as Sales Director for a major Telecoms company in the City.....awesome money, ridiculously long hours, very hard work. I never saw it continuing after a family made an appearance, so 4 years ago I started using my weekends, days of holidays etc to retrain...and I have never looked back.

I love variety and have a number of other 'things' I also do, including a lot of voluntary work for local organisations, I sit on the board of a couple of local business organisations and recently I've been commissioned as a journalist on a fairly well known publication, so am pleased about that.

Do I earn anywhere near as much....nope, but I'm a gazillion times happier! And in 10 years time....I plan to be just as happy!

Well here's one i bet no one else has been - UNDERTAKER ! yep, i was a funeral director for 7 years ! amongst other things. I have done it all, from cleaning at M&S from 5am - 7am then going to work for my dad, the funeral directors, whilst going to college in the evenings for my hairdressing and beauty therapy. I had a side line business making wedding dresses and ball gowns, i worked for a short time in a bridal shop. My saturday job whilst at school was in a hairdressers, i stayed there for 9 years ! (sorry this is all jumbled up and not in the right order!) I then opened a baby nursery shop with my sister and mum which we ran for 5 years, that was great because it was at the time when myself and my sister had our children so we could take them to work with us and get all our baby equipment at trade ! At that same time i had started to dabble in nails, which kinda snowballed, we sold the baby shop and i went full time with nails.

Where do i see myself in 10 years? Hopefully very rich as the kids will have left home !
