I'm sporting this beautiful ensemble tonight, after practising and applying my first L&P overlay to human nails (the 4 transparent ones)! The L&P is well lumpy and uneven, but first time after starting my course I didn't swear as I did it!

I'll have to splash some colour on quickly tomorrow morning...

After many, MANY attempts (including using a thermometer to get the water to a specific temperature) I abandoned the idea and use stamping instead.
Your first attempt was significantly better than my last. Very well done.

Thanks Pashaboutnails there is definately a knack to it. I'm currently writing a blog post about it to try help others
