Hi all,

A bit of a daftie for you!!!

Got a client to night for a manicure & 2 of his nails need enhancements.

What should i do first? The manicure or enhancements?

Thanks x :green:

I would do the manicure first! Not sure why though! THats just the way I do it!! LOL!

I agree, i would do the mani first aswell.

Yrp dothe manicure first as the nails needing the enhancments will need this also. Remember not to soak these nails

You mean when removing the cuticle ~ not too soak in the water?

i don't soak the nails in water when i am doing enhancements. I apply cuticle remover to remove any cuticle and then rinse with citrus soak and water. I don't soak as i think it can swell the nail plate. not good when yu are wanting something to adhere to it

Sorry guys but you always do the enhancements first - the oils of a manicure will penetrate into the nail plate and cause lifting, and you'd be faffing about too much to stop them getting covered with stuff.

Do the 2 nails first, and then you can do a full on manicure to both hands, including the ones with the tips on. HTH

Oh!! Is it a Spa Manicure? Sorry hun! I just assumed it was just a manicure!

Don't know hun, but all my manicures have full on cuticle work, nail plate treatments and hand massage and so would not be recommended to have enhancements applied afterwards.

I suppose if it was an express manicure (file, shape, cuticle work and polish) this would be OK and solar oil i would apply to all ten nails at the end of both treatments.

I have a few different ones! I do one thats is literrally just cuticle work, file and polish! If it's a proper full treatment then do the enhancements first!

Louise hun, listen to Sassy, I'm talking absolute balderdash hun! LOL!
I think it's beacuse I'm so upset for missing BB!!!!

Hi,
I'm with Sassy on this one...I would do the enhancements first...then the manicure..... then you get to buff them up to a shine at the same time!

Also I very rarely actually soak the clients nails during a manicure......as the majority of clients have got dry brittle nails, some even with peeling...therefore I would not want the water in a soak to swell the nail plate making this worse......With all the wonderful products like cuticle remover and aha cuticle eraser that can be used as part of a manicure to eliminate the non living cuticle I think soaking the nails is a bit outdated.....and unnecessary.

P.s. you will update us as to how you got on with him...........:wink2:
