Very inspiring to see so many geeks are self employed!

Oooh cant wait to see the replies to this post :D

This is where I get confused I finish my NVQ L2 in June and then go onto do NVQ L3. I have no idea what route to do after. At the moment Im debating renting a room / Teaching / becoming a Beauty Journalist ... What do you think?

Have just been offered a job in a salon

Mobile for me and I love it...time consuming and hard work but i wouldnt change it, I love the fact it is so unpredictable and that no week is ever the same, love my clients and my job. I do the odd treatment at home but only if I know the person as its not a salon its my family home living room lol xxxx

work for myself, i own my salon.

worked for make up counters, a few spas, a few salons then set up mobile and now rent a small beauty room in a hair dressers and I am about to upgrade to a bigger room. Baby steps and all that :)

I have my own salon and also teach extensions freelance for a company. :)

Mobile for me too, but hope to have home salon one day:hug:

so lots of geeks with home salons then. I currently do mobile and work from home however was starting to get disheartened with it trying to work round the baby can only do evenings and weekends at the moment had a disaster last week when partner wasnt home form work put baby to bed just after 7 but he wasnt well so projectile vomited all over me, bed, carpet, walls everywhere! 15 mins before client due to arrive! luckily it was a friend and so it worked out ok but new client couldve been disaster. so its nice to see so many people successfully working from home. would hate to give up what i love doing.

I have a home based treatment room and also work freelance.

Work from home, have a spa room set up in my conservatory which suits me fine for now (until I win the lottery ha ha). Have part time job 2 days a week and look after my 2yr old the rest of the time so home salon is great for me, mobile would kill me I think!

Setting up at home and getting really excited now as almost ready! Quite prepared for it to be a slow start and that it may take some time to build up but - nothing ventured....nothing gained :o)

Yeh the mobile will probably have to stop when I have children, I have thaught about that and it does worry me I just cant see how full time mobile would work work with a baby or small child. I think it would actualy be impossible so will have to think of other options when the time comes xx

I'm exactly the same as you - been mobile for almost 5 years and I love it for the same reasons you do...... I wouldn't change it if I had a choice to!!
