Where to store client data?

Hi,

I am starting a new salon and literally everything about it...

I had designed my own client record cards before, making sure I had everything answered from clients that I needed...

Are people storing record cards on pc's / tablets or are you still using paper versions.

Also, are you asking people to sign their card each time they come for a treatment - I am asking if everything is the same and every few months getting clients to sign to say everything is correct and up to date on their medical history etc.

Do we need to look at data protection if we want to store client details, such as address and contact numbers on google mail etc to make it easier to contact them - can someone advise?

If you store customers' info on computer then you will need to register with the Information Commissioner's Office (for Data Protection Act) Data Protection and Freedom of Information advice - ICO
