i was just wondering what courses everyone has found beneficial. And what has brought the most custom in
Sorry for any confusion, I was just interested in courses other people have loved and what they have found the most beneficial xThis is a difficult question to answer because there are so many variables. What are you interested in? What's the client base like? What have you done already? What's the trainer like? What does the qualification allow you to do?
I would always recommend doing a course that leads to a recognised qualification rather than just a certificate of attendance.
It does depend on the individual.
20 years ago I did ITEC's in Massage, sports therapy and aromatherapy. Even though I had a lull of several years when I didn't offer much massage ( aromatherapy / sports therapy were non existant) I've more recently been able to up skill to hotstones as I already have level 3 quals. That was usefull. I'm looking at doing some myofacial release / cupping / taping courses that wouldn't be available to me if I didn't have the level 3 A&P backup.
I miss not having a full level 2 beauty. I've got dilapidation ( which I don't use much ) - but I can always promote in a quiet spell and my level 2 facials have really made a difference to the type of cosmetic acupuncture I offer.
I don't have eye treatment so can't tint, lash lift, lash, do manis or pedis..but my business has enough direction it can go in at the moment![]()
I've done the Kim Lawless Brazilian masterclass course and I thought the training was invaluable in giving me the confidence to do the waxing but it's generally not a very popular treatment and it's quite hard to get clients to sell it as it's quite personal and of course, painful! Even though I'm very good at it and hate clietns I do have think I'm excellent, and great at handling their embarrassment It's not one of my most popular treatments! I think it depends on where you are! I live in quite a rural area, not a busy, metropolitan city!Intimate waxing seems to be a good business opportunity from everything I've read on here, if you do it really well. This isn't from personal experience but I've only ever read glowing reviews for the Kim Lawless intimate waxing courses. Just do a search through the threads.
I hate doing hot stones and no longer offer it!Hot stones and aromatherapy for me. All my massage clients converted and hot stones make it easier for my hands too.
I'm in the most rural of locations (in a barn with cows outside the window [emoji202]) and can easily do 3 a day at £30 a time and they take about 20 minutes. I think they are really popular. I really only do intimate waxing and high end facials now.I've done the Kim Lawless Brazilian masterclass course and I thought the training was invaluable in giving me the confidence to do the waxing but it's generally not a very popular treatment and it's quite hard to get clients to sell it as it's quite personal and of course, painful!
