Which nail polish to use on acrylic?

Hi I'm new to this and studying level 3 nail tech course.
I'm doin acrylics on friends an family at the moment and not sure what nail polish to use as it doesn't have the same effect as when the nail shops do them. Is it gel colour they use? Or what do you recommend? Thank you

I use normal nail polish over L&P enhancements, it looks the same as over natural nails

Yes some Tech use Gel Polish over enhancements too, it's more of a personal, or client choice. For instance I have no problems with chipping with nail polish over enhancements, and find it dries very quickly (CND Vinylux) and don't like the 'bulk' that gel polish seems to cause. But others on here regularly use Gel Polish over enhancements with no issue.

Thank you for replying. I was only wondering as wen I do nail vanish it doesn't have that thick shiny look. Will prob have to get some decent nail polish an try out some new acrylic powder as I'm using the edge at the moment. Thank you again

The 'thick' look will be Gel Polish over the enhancement - which is the effect I don't particularly like, especially at the cuticle as I think it looks bulky.

A glossy finish is easily achieved with a good quality top coat over normal polish, I use Vinylux now (as I use the whole system) but previously before Vinylux I used various other brands. Top coats seem to be a personal choice too, I've used most on the market at some point. Seche Vite gets lot of rave reviews for instance.
