Ok me again, I am hoping for some advice. I am currently doing an acrylic nail tech course with young nails. The course is good but when I have completed it I will only be qualified in acrylic nails. It is my intention to offer as many skills as possible so I do want to learn gel extensions and gel polish. My question is do I compete a City&Guilds level 3 qualification at my local college which covers acrylic, gel and fibre glass (not manicure or pedicure or gel polish ) or do I go to individual companies to get trained in different things? I want to have the best training possible so I know if I change brands I need to do conversion courses to use that brand however I am wondering about the basic underlying qualification. What is best to do?

Will watch this thread as I am interested in this too. The majority of the level 3 courses say you have to be level 2 qualified first. So I assume you would have to do a level 2 in manicure and pedicure first, Or is this covered in your acrylic course?

My local college is not asking me to do level 2 first as I am a mature student.

That's good for you then. Sorry I only said that as my local college has level 3 adult nail tech courses, but within the entry requirements it says to have level 2 (as I am looking into a course too) Perhaps different colleges have different entry criteria.
