Why can't I get the cut I want?

I know we are more fussy perhaps with our hair cuts as we are hairdressers but having had my hair cut yesterday at a new salon recommended to me I have to say I could of done a better job myself ..... I've yet to meet a hairdresser that can cut my hair (just above shoulders) how I want it
I took pictures in I even took a picture to show how crazy my hair is before it's straightend!
After he showed me I explained it's not what I wanted so he took more off and then after he showed me again and it still wasn't right I lost confidence I could see myself coming out with a frankee so I just paid and left,
but have to say aarerrggggghhhhhh I'd grown my hair to have the style I want and now 4 inches gone, wasted!!
and I've not got the style I want !!!
And begrudge paying out for a hairstyle I can't west down Jesus thank god it still ties up just about lol

As a hairdresser you should know that pictures don't help very much. Your stylist should say what do you like about this picture not assume that's the exactly style you want as you may not have the same hair type or face shape! What kind of places are you going to? Are they doing a full consultation? It's very much a two way process. Can't really advise on how you get the hair cut you want really.

you'll have to show us photo's of you before and after and which style you wanted? I probably won't be much help but I'm very nosey!!:wink2: seriously though, I can't get a hairdresser to cut mine how I want, too many of us think we know better or don't really listen to our clients.

Ditto! I've been trying to grow my hair for years, only for other hairdressers to chop it all off into a flippin bob, ok, I've got the hair for a bob but that's not what I want! I always research the salons I go to, even ask complete strangers where they've had their hair done if I like the look of it!
I cut my own hair now and it's the longest it's been for years! Wouldn't want another pro to check the cut though......

Ok top is before bottom is what I wanted so literally just the back shaped etc I will have to upload the after picture later as I got rather drunk and ended up in my friends hot tub last night and woken up with a crazy curly Afro this morning whoops xxx

So after I recovered from my hangover I washed my hair and it's actually not that bad he had just dried it all wrong lol! It's still not as graduated as I would have liked but no where near the helmet look it was when I got home Friday haha

I would literally just work my way through consultations which are free everywhere and not have it done until i was completely content with what they were saying. if you see a hairdresser with the hair you want book a consultation with them and ask them who cut their hair. Then just get an appointment with the person who cut it ....
