hi ya.....

just reading through rose143 thread about her lady and thought to myself ....

why is it clients tell blatant pork pies to us? Do they REALLY think we dont know when nails have been 'helped' off? DO they think we believe them when we know full well no after care has been carried out and they SWEAR blind it has?

I had a client sat in front of me yesterday after a long day of training and travelling and i was BURSTIN TO say....'how come everyone else doesnt come back with their nails in this state?'.

I have one customer who sits there and ADMITS she bit them all off i said you know what at least your honest - i cant stand the feeble excuses i hear !

another client.....Nail plate missing off every toe....hmm didnt just float off then love did it ? Mine stays on for months and months?

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

THen there was ....oh i only turned the page of my book - yeah right!

Whats the most STUPID reason u have been given for nails coming off!

RANT RANT RANT !!

Oh Amb, you've sure cheered me up! :) Those made me laugh!!!

One of my new ladies tried me and she said, I just threw my arms around my husband and two just "pinged off!" I just looked at her and said nothing, she quickly corrected herself and said okay, you don't believe me this is what I really did. Since then she's been honest with me :)

I know what you mean Amber, I swear our clients think we're stupid. We're not doing what we do to fill our spare time!!! We're professionals and we know what we're doing or we wouldn't be charging them for it.

I donno why people do that, thinking we cant tell. You know full good and well nails dont just "pop" off. I have only ever had one nail come off, and it was a fabric wrap. I remember it being on when I was going home one evening, and then when I was playing with my daughter the next day, I noticed it was gone. I dont know what happened to that nail. But as far as acrylics, I have never had one just come off when I do something. Especially something as silly as hugging someone??

angie told me a good one yesterday.......one of her lady's said 'it floated off in the bath?'

GOODNESS me ???????????!!!!!!!!! can you believe it?

I used to think it was me......but when you get client a coming back after 3 weeks and they look pukka you know client b who struggles to go 2 weeks even is doing something not right.....or exceptionally heavy handed !

My lady yesterday must have been a flippin brick layer !

Yeah i've had this one, and the one where 3 just came off while she was asleep - she woke up the next morning and there they were in her bed!!!!!

Beats me what she was doing in her sleep - then again, maybe i don't want to know eh!!:wink2:

I don't think i cud get mine off if i tried, these people must have a v.high pain threashold - it must bl**dy hurt when they pull them off!

I think they don't want us to think badly of them, or have a go at them

I've got a couple of severe nail biters and a 'stress nibbler' and they've all arrived at some point with their hands behind their back saying 'you're going to have such a go at me!'

But I don't and I never will...........I'm a nail biter and I know how easy it is to start nibbling without realising, then find the bits of all 10 on the arm of the sofa beside you and you left wondering why the hell you did that :smack: and I tell them that, and they don't feel so bad then.

They almost always tell me the truth about what happened because I can emphathise with them totally about what happens - if they try the 'it fell off' routine I don't say anything and just start working.....eventually they can't help themselves and they end up telling me a bit about what happened, then a bit more.....then you get the whole story  Bless them

I think they just all want to be great clients and feel bad if they feel like they've failed

Yeah agreee with you there Trin, you do eventually end up getting the truth out of them inthe end.

For some reason clients think i'm going to shout at them when they turn up with stubbs for nails.

What they choose to do with their nails is up to them. I give them the aftercare advice and if they choose not to follow it, i can't do anymore.

You'd think though that cost wise they'd try to keep them on and only pay for a rebalance/infill as opposed to a full set each time??

Totally agree Em!

I also see the other side too because the technician I used to go to before I became a Tech myself didn't charge me extra for replacements so I didn't take care of them or worry if I bit them all off :o

I don't make that mistake with my clients now

alot of people don't like to admit that they were wrong. You give them aftercare and they think 'aahh, not going to bother' and then that happens.

I've had the old it popped off routine, can't really think/remember any good ones I've had.

Thanks for the laugh, lol.

The very first pair of enhancements I had done was for my wedding. My dad paid for them as a treat the day before, we paid £35 for the set and when I walked out of the salon they looked perfect.

Within 2 hours they had started to lift at the edges, so I decided that from that moment on I would not lift another finger until my wedding photographs had been taken the next day, and for the rest of the evening stuck to my word. Oh it was great to have slave running about after me while I sat amiring my new nails....lol.

When I woke up the next morning there were 3 nails only attached by the glue on the tips the whole of the acrylic on the nail beds had lifted. I was gutted beyond belief. My mum called nail tech who had done my enhancements and she came straight over to my home and sorted them out for me, hence perfect weeding day nails and photos. I have never had any problems since so not sure went wrong on that day.

Sorry I'm still lacking in fancy signatures etc, I don't know where to start with things like that

Yep, I've had the old 'they fell off in bed' excuse. Hmm, funny how they loook like they've been forced off though. Whenever anything like this happens, I always ask 'did you read your aftercare leaflet?' The answer is always no. So I tell them they need to take more care of their enhancements & to go home & read that leaflet. Usually, these people haven't bought Solar Oil either so I take the opportunity to tell them again what a difference it makes. Funnily enough, they stop having problems after that. Clients will always try it on, they don't like to admit that they are to blame & probably think you will repair them for nothing if they imply that it was your fault. I always make it clear to clients that I will do NO freebies, I think they take more care if they know they have to pay for the damage that they do.

Pmsl! Carm down Amb! We do have 'stupid' written on our foreheads you know!

Seriously, its really silly when clients tell these porkies.

When I first started, a nail biter picked all of hers off; I fell for it and was going to do them again free (me feeling guilty and thought my work was c**p). She was like 'oh, no, no, you dont have to do them again'.... That really made me think....

From then on, I do question them like mad when/if they come back with very dodgy nails whilst other clients nails only need infilling.

Dont let them get to you!

Hey amber...remember this one "i was just turning the page of a book"...lol..what were the pages made off...concrete...lol xxx

One of my favs was ' I just flicked the switch on my Hairdryer and the whole thing popped off' - how many people flick the switch on their hairdryer with their middle fingers?!?!?
