I spoke to a solicitor and he reckons they could sue me if i even try to advertise????

I think this is ridiculous. If you advertise saying "hi all my old clients, I'll come do your hair in the house now" then maybe. But if you put an ad in the paper advertising your services, they won't sue you. Unless it says in your contract "you can't advertise your own business."

Its because the word compete with is used so he said if u advertise they could say ur competing etc?

I dint negotiate because it was given to me years ago and the lingo is so diff to understand etc. Its only now im dissecting my contract with a proff that i c things. But like i said i never signed it i was given it and nothing more was said
