I currently have a salon and have had it for 13 years,the building is falling apart and they have put my rent up and want me to sign another 10years has anyone set up at home in a conservatory? I’m considering but I’m just worried about the heat?mine is all brick and only a glass roof I’m worried about walking away from the building and it not being a good discission

If you feel it's the right thing to do then go with it. I think it's better to have tried and failed than to not try at all. If you didn't leave, would you seriously stay there, pay more rent, knowing that the repairs won't get done and the building situation is only going to get worse?
I would either be looking at relocating to a different premises or look at creating a home salon, if the home salon doesn't work for you, you can then maybe set up in a salon again, knowing that it's worked for you the last 13 years. Take this as an opportunity to try something new, if it doesn't work, go back to the old (not the same building of course)

Don’t sign for a 10 year lease in the current financial climate unless you’re certain you’re happy to be bound by such terms.

Maybe consider setting up from home in the short term and reviewing it before next winter? I know you can get the conservatory roof panels swapped to solid insulated ones as a friend did that with some of hers and it’s helped. Plus I think you can get reflective sheets that can stick on the glass to deflect the sun?
