hi,

i have been practicing on a friends nails with L & P and shes getting yellow marks under the acrylic / acrylic going yellow.
she said it seems to happen when she uses a sunbed?
can this be the cause? why would it do this?

or could there be another reason for the yellowing? ive had it on one nail of someone else aswel (not sure if she went on a sunbed)

PLEASE HELP!!! IT LOOKS SO HORRIBLE.

The yellowing on the one nail could be smoking..? also i think some products yellow more than others. What are you using..?

You could try a uv protecting topcoat.

HI,

Most L&P systems are non yellowing, Creative Nail Designs certainly is.....this sounds more like a contaminated brush if more than 1 client has had this occur on their enhancement.
How are you storing your brush?
If you store it upright, monomer can seep back into the ferrule, and when you next use the brush this can cause contamination,e.g. yellow streaks in the product!
Your brush should always be stored flat and in a container away from dust
etc...
Check your brush....wet it out in a small amount of monomer (then dispose of monomer) then wipe it on a lint free pad and it may well leave a yellow stain on the pad...if so then I'm afraid it is time to get a new brush!!

could be several things. Could be the sunbeds, could be contamination of your powder or liquid. Do you use a primer? Could also be that you are getting primer on the product that is already on the nail.
Anybody else got any ideas?

Cheers

hi guys

thanks for the ideas.

im using dream by essential nails - thats who i done my course with.

its not by smoking - she dont smoke!

i thought it may have been my brush so got a new one and its still happening.
i got the one with a detachable handle which goes over the brush for storage to keep it clean and free from dust etc so i dont think its this. its stored laying flat in my case.

can a sunbed cause this?
i dont know what else it could be. but then its not on every nail so i dont know if it is the sunbed!!

it looks sooo horrible!

Sorry bit slow with my answer:)

Cheers

If the product is yellowing it could be sunbeds (depending on which products you use), if it is underneath I'd chek your prep & application, sounds like something is wrong. Are the enhancements lifting? It could be that she's got something underneath.

Product contamination shows in the first couple of hours of application, application of product on wet primer, after that it is external like tanning bed, tanning creams, even some spices if she loves cooking, bodylotions containing small amounts of self tanners..

Is she using the sun bed enhancer this has self tan in it.

I am still getting some lifting (thats why im still practicing on friends & family!) but i think thats because im still finding it hard to leave that gap around the edge & not touch the skin, as i spend alot of time on my prep so i dont think its that.
have read all geegs tutorials and they have helped me alot with my prep and other bits - its just getting that bit more control over the product!

they are not going yellow straight away, maybe about a week later - so it cant be contamination.
maybe it is the sunbed then?

essential nails do a UV L&P that needs curing under a UV light, do you think this would make any difference or would it still go yellow?
(mind you, not to sure how to use this!!)

feel a bit disapointed as i dont know what to do if it is the sunbed! cant tell her to stop using it!!!
Would a sunbed cause Gel enhancements to go yellow? (this is my next course im starting soon)

thanks peeps for your help on this one!

Just use a UV Sealer over the Acrylic..................... this will block all UV rays and will avoid yellowing..............Total Ecplipse by CND.......... UV30 by EZflow are fab............just to name a couple............

Get in touch with EN and ask them about the product yellowing under the sunbed and do they have a UV inibitor......
Some brands of L&P can go yellow under the sunbed, specially if the client likes to do maximum minutes..
