Dont all rant and rave at me its only my opinion.......

I too recieved my copy of nailclasss, yes it was signed (nice personnal touch) but was it me expecting too much?...... I thought it was going to have more in it. What ive read so far is everything off the tutorials (which I have already printed off!!). Bit dissapointed thought there might of been a few more words of interest/advice that already hadnt been written.

BUT it is nice that its all together in a way that you can easily access.

No ones gonna hate you hun..its your opinion and your entitled to it...my opinion is that the book is great..and much more than just the tutorials...also remember that there are alot of nail techs out there whom for whatever reason don't even know about nail geek, so they will buy the book and will never have read any of it before.

xxxx

Dont get me wrong its well worth the £15 for all nail techs, and I will refere back to it time after time Im sure!!!

Looked on the inside cover to find out that Gigi herself did the front cover nails, I just hope I can become that good!!!!

Oh that's a shame. Don't worry about anyone hating you...............you're entitled to your opinion.

I got what I hoped for which was tutorials explained clearly for me to refer to time and time again. If anything, I hope that another one is written with more advanced tutorials, once I've learned all this of course.

xxx

I have downloaded some of the Tutorials too but I much prefer it in Book form its nice and neat doesen't take up loads of space and there are so many sheets that I have printed off that I can't find .
I think its a great book

Ruby :)

I know exactly what you mean about the nails on the front cover...how gorgeous are they....

i will only be satisfied when i am knocking nails out like these!
Going for a 121 with Gigi on Monday and going to ask for her to learn me to do sets like that.

.....somehow i think it is going to take more than a 121....lol.

Arn't they just the best things you have ever seen.....oh how sad am i?

Yes................those nails on the front. Not only do I want to create nails just like that but I'd love to have them on the end of my fingers. Do you think they were done with the custom colours? I can't stop looking at them.

I'd love to become good enough for clients to be able to bring along a photo and say "I want my nails to be just like that".

Oh I can but dream. I'll tell you what though, reading my book today has made me determined to become excellent.

Hate you nah we don't do hate on this site :)
We all have opinion on what we think is a good nail book and what isn't.
This in my opinion is a brill book writting in terms we all understand, Its more of a guide for nail techs to refer to time and time again. A valuable tool for professional to student.
Its not got loads of bright coloured pictures, But it has got lots of words of wisdom.

lol... when i first looked at this thread i thought it was you lell...and then thought "No Way" lell loves the book...lelli..lolly..pop...maybe i am just getting tired....sorry lell...should have known it wasnt you...lol xxxx

I asked Gigi what her mix ratio was for these stunning nails ... and she said she couldnt remember the exact ratio but she used a mix of soft white, natural and a tad of yellow. I was wanting a similar colour to use on a client who has had natural raptors done with pink in 3 zones and I need a colour to match the raptors to recreate the smile line. Well low and behold.. I have done it, and it wasnt too hard. It is almost identicle to the colour of gigi's nails at the free edge and when I put it over a raptor tip you couldnt see the different really. One problem sorted ... just wish I could get them looking like gigi's now.... :)

Well I can dream can't I?

Give it a go Kimmi, if you have the various colours, make small amounts and experiement, its great fun.

Oneday we will all be excellent and not need the nail geek anymore., what do yu think?............

.......nah!, he would miss us and be soo lonely without us bitching, and squabbling and having to close threads because we end up like a pack of cackling hens at each other.

Maybe you missed the original and ongoing gen about the book that explained it was going to be a list of tutorials in written form only - no pictures. I think you might have got caught up in all the hype and raised your expectations. I knew it would be the tutorials, but it is great to have them in a proper book rather than dog eared bits of paper!

I have to agree though, it wasn't what I was expecting - I never imagined that Gigi would put a personal message when she signed them, or mention my name at the front - now that was special!

ps in the second edition could we have a tutorial on French Manicures for the complete clutz (ie ME!)!!

Oh................Jen Jen Jen............ I'm nearly wetting myself with excitement. Right, so what do I need to buy? Apart from the normal colour powders, there are only Mosaic and Metro kits in my product catalogue 2004. I was given this 2wks ago at Loughton. I thought there was a kit called Custom colours. Help me out geeks. xxx

Hi There!
Well said NailStyle,I also think the book is great.....and should help me a lot with doing some fab nails hopeful!with all the tutorials that are in it.

i think the book is great too - i printed off the tuts but its so much better in book form, half the time i dont look at stuff ive printed so the book is brill. i also think that because there are no pics, it makes you visualise more, and understand what gigi is saying, i visualise what i wamnt the end result to be, but rarely get it, but im sure with the book ill get there.........

thanks geeg, whens the second edition coming out hahaha

Kimmi you need soft white, natural and some mosaic yellow. I think the mosaic does come in individual pots, but you would have to check up on that. :)

Im confused. help. should i buy it or not???
