Reading Scratch this month there is a snippet on Young Nails Finish Gel, and it sounds great. I really like l+p but love the gloss of gel..... Does anyone use it like this? Does it work?! Would I be better with the Brisa equivalent (Creative trained but not done Brisa yet....)

Young Nails are offering the gel and the lamp for £48+vat which sounds pretty good value to me.

Any opinions for me?

Thanx,

I use the Gel it finishing uv top coat over L & P all the time it works really well so I am sure the YN one would too. I charge an extra £2 for it as my clients like the finish and permanent shine of gel but the strength of L & P. I was thinking of trying the young nails version like you for a change but I don't want to buy the lamp as well I just use my normal lamp. I would give it a try ( or try the Gel it version thats good).

Yes, I've used the YN Finishing Gel over L&P and it's fine - gives a lovely glossy look to the nails. As I remember it's quite pricey (50 Euro a bottle over here!) so it sounds like a bargain.

Ive used the finish gel for a year , its very good. Its quick to cure ( about 1 minute) and you can put it over jewells etc. Just use white block buffer the gel away!!! Dont buff tho, cause the gel needs something to 'grab'onto.

i've been using young nails finish for 2 years or so as a top coat on l/p. all my clients love it and cant get their heads round the fact that their nails are properly dry after 1 minute.its still glossy 2-3 weeks later when they return for maintenance.i find it also works well over hand painted nail art too. it goes on nice an thinly so a bottle lasts for ages.

If you do the Brisa course you will then be able to offer gel nails as part of your 'repertoire'...we charge £5 extra for Brisa top coat on l&p....looks fantastic, easy to do, takes minutes!!!!!!!!!!!
