Hi Everyone,
I'm relatively new here and need some advice. I have been diong my training in L & P with EN (I live in the middle of nowhere and it was my only real option) and I think that I am getting quite good but I still have a problem with Zone 3. I can't decide whether or not it is bacause I am too much of a perfectionist or if I am doing something wrong. I have read all the tutorials on the site a number of times but when it comes to finishing I always seem to file gaps into what I thought was a nicely applied Zone 3 overlay. They look fine once the Solar Oil is applied and you can't see a thing but I know that the edge is not perfect. I don't think I'm filing too much, just trying to get an even finish. How do you guys do it?

Thanks,

Fran

Where are the holes hun and what exactly do you mean by holes?

I was getting that problem, I was trying to apply it thinly to zone 3 and ending up with "holes", these were patches in the l&p that were shiny (This was the nail plate showing.)

Turned out that by trying to work with the product thinly I was actually working too wet... I adjusted my mix ratio and worked on zone 3 with much smaller beads and it solved my problem.

HTH,
Miss B. x

Ive often applied product too thin & wet in zone 3 then overbuffed too. I think its a common mistake because we're trying to avoid creating that 'ledge'.

Also, as Miss Bicuit said you only need a very small bead, so be careful not to overwork it.
So you could also check that youre not trying to work with too much product or work too quiclky and sweeping all the product back out to the sides leaving nothing at the cuticle and making a bulky enhancement... Ive done this too! :o
Have you checked the Premium Geek tutorials for zone 3 'Making it disappear'?

Hiya, Thanks.. No, I mean that as I am working less wet in zone 3 now, t work thinly I am compensating by using a smaller bead and it does work, excpet on the odd occassion!

OOOh Soz Miss Biscuit.. I actually meant Fran!
You sound like you have zone 3 well & truly sussed! :wink2:

Thanks for that, I think that in the attempt to get the Zone 3 really blended I am definitely making the product too wet and applying it too thinly. I seem to get it right when I work on the nail trainer, maybe the pressure isn't so great to produce perfect nails so they seem to work out OK.

Thanks for your help, I love this site I am learning so much
