Did a french manicure on friday and used my new UV top caot from the 411 range but my client came back a day later with what I can only discribe as looking like pocket lifting in the centre of her nails. It must be the new UV coat but I cant think why it did it, I follwed the instructions but used my brisa lamp instead of one of the new ones is this why? Help needed.

HI, I can only think that using your Brisa lamp is the cause......the new digital or dual u.v. lamps are a different wattage and u.v. output from the Brisa lamp...........

Hi, I had the same problem, i just bought the glaze and go from NSI, its fab, works over gel L&p and polish, use with any lamp! £12.95 - well worth a try!!

could be that then, any idea on price of theese new lamps- it's a bit silly isn't it, you would have thought CND would have made it to work with the brisa lamp!

Hi all,

Excuse my stupidity but do we have to buy new UV lamps for the 411 range or can we use any uv lamp other than Brisa??????? :o

This is a bit off track but might help...

BRiSA is unique gel technology based on liquid and powder chemistry. It also has a much lower concentration of photoinitiators (the things inside the gel that cause it to cure under UV light) this has several major advantages - far less likely to have allergic reaction, less chance of exothermic reaction, and less chance of yellowing down the line....
However it means the lamp required to cure had to be made with a far more efficient output (the wattage and voltage simply mean the amount of power used) but the output is still much higher.

All this means that BRiSA lamps are very often not suitable for other products designed for UV cure.

I've found the BRiSA lamp gives rather unsatisfactory results with the 411 UV top coat... but with the new lamp it kicks butt

Phew...so glad to hear this - been having nothing but probs since yesterday trying to test run the UV top coat on my own nails and its peeling straight off again. I've been double-curing in my Brisa lamp and hoped that its just a case of needing that 411 lamp.

Incidentally, I'm a bit confused - yesterday at Acton, they were saying that I would apply all the layers as normal, base, enamel and then a top gloss, Air Dry, Super Shiney or whichever, and then follow on with the UV Gloss. However, when I looked on Creative's site, it merely mentions applying the UV gloss straight over the enamel. Should I be following the Creative instructions instead - I'm wondering if this is what has also contributed to the problems I'm having so far?

Well I just applied over the coloured enamel. I'm confused though cos I tried the UV over my acrlics to see what happened and it has worked great even with the brisa lamp. Anyone out there no the price of the new lamps??

(for Hollyballo)... I would go with the CND website directions, at least till you've found something that works lol!!
The UV is still just a top coat like the air dry or super shiny so can't see why you would put it over the top... the first layer would still be trying to cure...

The fastest top coat recipe I have found to date is combining Air Dry and Solar speed spray over base coat and enamel of choice. This is a really tough, high shine that dries faster than anything I've ever seen!!!

I was told by the guys at Acton that they thought it was around the same cost as the Brisa lamp.

God, think iwill be doing more experimenting with it. no cash at the mo- ha!

Thanks Envy - I'll omit the top coat next time then, and go straight to the UV - I knew it seemed a bit odd to be applying two different top coats!

I have to say, after all that, I ended up taking the simpler option and yes, I'm loving Air Dry - and Ridge Filler is lovely too - it looked so nice on I didn't bother with enamel and the nails are looking fab again now. I must get some of that Solar Spray...

Hi peeps,

You guys were talking lamps and stuff, I didn't hear from any of you what lamps you are using or if we need to buy special lamps from creative for these uv top coats, is this what you guys meant by "the new lamps?"

I am very confused!

xxxx

Hi

Although i have heard good and bad things about the new UV top coat i wont be investing in it. I just don't want to have to buy yet another lamp i already have 4 and its just another added expense i can do without. Also there is the space issue, a girl only has so many cupboards you know.

Hi Rose

Yes, there is a lamp speficially for the 411 UV top gloss but unfortunately they haven't arrived as yet, so we're having to make do with what we've got, such as the Brisa lamp. But so far, for me anyhow, its proving a bit hit and miss so I really need to judge this top coat using the correct equipment!

Oh Tee!

A girl should never let a "lack of available space" issue get in the way of the opportunity to spend and acquire!

Well that's my excuse anyhow, and I have no intention of changing my opinion on the matter

Look at it this way Hollyballoo!!

The space that the new lamp takes up might have fitted two pairs of shoes into it!! That is a huge sacrifice don't you think? LOL!!!!!!!!

Yes Tilly chick, you have a point I guess (so practically minded you are). But I always have the perfect solution when I require more space...

I just clear out the boyfriend's cupboards - what does he need all his clutter for.

See, these things can be so easily remedied ;) .

Ha ha thats what I would do!! They don't need as many clothes as us girls anyway!!! :D

LMAO
