I managed it! Lots of pretty nails, happy clients and a happy but tired me [emoji16]
Last client sent me the last pic when she booked the appointment then arrived with the 1st pic and left with the 2nd. That set took 2 hours so I'm glad it was my last appointment. Not perfect but she loved them and was understanding that I wouldn't do them any longer
When they are so short is there anything I could do to improve how they look?

I think you have done a great job with her nails . If I was to say anything it would be that I feel these are still too long for those nails . She has a very small amount of nail plate and the tell tale 'bulbous '' ends of a nail biter . I would not have done them any longer than the end of her fingers to ensure they last as long as possible .Rule of thumb for correct balance is two thirds nail plate , one third length if that makes sense . In other words the amount past the free edge should not be more than half the length of nail plate. Of course people do have them longer than this but I am just saying that is what would be best for balance and strength

Paint could have been closer to the 'cuticle ' and some more work on those done as well. However that said it is a beautiful job and I am sure she was over the moon with these :)

Thanks for all the advice. I've gone for it and booked in 7 sets of L&P for Friday. If all goes to plan it will be an enjoyable and profitable day!

Keep your fingers crossed for me [emoji4]

7 sets!!!

Thank you for the advice. I'll keep them shorter next time.
I did lots of cuticle work they were very far down the nails and I felt that was enough for her this time.

I would really push that cuticle right back. You can see some cuticle
Are you dry pushing the cuticle

No, that was after using cuticle remover and I wouldn't push any further back as they were very dry. I nipped some off but tbh I just felt that as they were in that condition initially it was enough for her. That's without any oil as they were matte she wanted to go straight out after the appointment.
It's the shape of the nails I'd like to improve on.

What a set to finish your night on I bet you wanted to scream the shape will change in time with regular treatment did you sculpt these on or tip

I sculpted but she was lovely and so happy when she left. I enjoyed doing them I just get frustrated doing short nails as they look wide. She's coming back for infills.

Phew I've done 7 appts in s day but not seven new sets, well done for getting through that

Only other thing is I prob would avoid making any decorative horizontal lines on these as they don't elongate the appearance, I'd have gone for vertical or diagonal .... That said, it sounds like that's what she asked for so what can you do

Unfortunately she wanted exactly the same as the pic. I suggested a different colour and design but she wanted that. Hopefully if she comes back I can do better cuticle work and she'll have a bit more length. I'd rather have used solar oil too. That's me finished until Tuesday [emoji16]

My normal time is 1.5-2 hours depending on the condition of the nails and if they went to a quick-y nail place that uses an illegal MMA mix, or hard gel over the top of the acrylic. Because, you literally have to drill that stuff off. It will not soak off with acetone.
I used to have an in-home salon and I think people like to talk more under this type of setting. It's so comfortable! At a salon, you have a book at the reception and they are realizing that you have other appts on the books.
I had a lady ask me to work with her today and she has a 30 minute full set goal time. I was understandably bewildered, and I said, Thanks anyway. I actually do a manicure if needed and take time to care for my clients nails. My goal is minimal to no nail damage. And then I followed with, "Are you a walk-in only place that uses exclusively e-file?" And of course her answer was "Yes." No thanks. I'd rather be a professional. I have had so many clients ask me to remove or "fix" their nails. My first question is , where did you get them done? If it was a walk-in salon, "fast food" style nail salon, the time allotted is more and my price is more.

I currently allocate 2 hours to each L&P appointment and infill. I'm getting much busier and I've had to turn new clients down which is the last thing I want to do so I need to ensure I'm working effectively.

The sets I did yesterday took me around 1hr 15 mins and were all new clients with gel polish and glitter so I'm leaving too long inbetween but I work from home and I get really stressed about running over time and having clients waiting. I also wouldn't want to feel rushed or my client to feel that either.

Any advice is much appreciated.
