Hi geeks, I normally use Wella 55/46 on my mums hair with 6% iv not coloured it for a few weeks so she has about an inch of white hair. Now the advice I need is yesterday she said her head was burning ( she wasn't having her hair done at this point ) and said her head felt dry. When I looked at her forehead is was bright red and blotchy which to me looked like psoriasis, she goes into hospital in a week for a knee op and she wants her hair done before she goes in. Iv told her to see her doctor about her head which she is going to but I told her I won't be able to put a colour on her hair. Can anyone tell me will it be safer to put a colour touch 77/45 on while her head is the way it is or is she best to stay away from colour all together till its sorted
Thanks xx

If you put the 77/45 on, you will have root glow as the 55/46 is 2 shades darker. You was right, get her to the docs to see what the problem is, it could just be inflamed from stress, as she is going in for a op, and there not the nicest things to go through. I would leave this until medical advice is given and then you can colour using your normal 55/46 and maybe put the 77/45 on the mid lengths and ends to refresh them?

Thank you. It is really bright I know the colour touch is brighter but her hair doesn't look 55/46 it does look like the colour touch colour. I don't want her to have root glow. My mum doesn't care what colour I put on as long as her greys are covered. So I could put 5/37 colour touch just to cover the grey. She's going to the doctors on Thursday so il just leave it till the weekend or next week dependant on doctors advice. I said its probably stress that's caused it
Thanks x

I would honestly leave it, maybe get some temporary colour like a hair spray, or a colouring gel or something like that, just to spray on her parting and hairline. I wouldn’t put the 5/37 on because its brunette, and you would get banding where the brunette and red clash.

Something like this Stargazer One Wash Colour Hair Spray Blue 75ml: Amazon.co.uk: Beauty

Thank you. I will just leave it till she's been for medical advice. Il tell her to ask doctor regarding colour. X

It's the safest option hun. If you can't colour it, try doing some v close foils to disguise it, and less regrowth will show. Let's hope it's nothing and everything's fine, if she wears a hat or hair net or something like that it could just be a rub rash ad go away or a slight reaction to something that may be on the head gear like latex in the elastic of a hair net xoxo

She doesn't wear a hat or hair net. She doesn't do too much with her hair unless iv done it for her. All behind her ears are red and blotchy like her head and all in her hair are flakes. She said her head itches and feels like its burning. I might suggest a few highlights of the colour I use just on Parting for now until it clears up. I wouldn't want to make it worse.
Thanks for your advice :) xx
