This is going to be hard to explain and won't be of interest unless you are mobile and concerned with storing/carrying your brushes while out and about.
I discovered a brush container at my local art shop which is basically a clear plastic tube about the size of the inside of a kitchen roll tube, with a base and obviously a lid. Inside is a long, flat piece of very thin plastic which you need to make sure is a bit longer than any of your brushes, and an elastic band is around this.
You slip your brushes under the elastic band and there they stay, not touching each other, not touching the plastic of the tube (which would, in time, start to melt) and not touching the lid either, even when turned upside down, because the elastic band holds them in place.
All you have to do is make sure you keep the brush contained in your case the right way up so that when you are carrying your case, your l&p brushes are either horizontal or with bristles pointing downwards.
Hope this helps someone. Oh and it cost about £2.50 lol!
