Just wondering how many back to back clients you book together?

I've been finding I do appreciate a 20 min break or so after 2 really, certainly after 3.

The other day I did 5 then a late lunch then another 3 and really felt shattered. It's the sitting in one position for so long I think, plus keeping up the small talk and smiley face.

How about you?

I have a 15 minute break as I work from home and don't like them waiting while I'm still working.
Gives me time to clean up and set up for the next one. I'm usually 5 or 7 appointments on my late nights if I'm fully booked but I did overdo it lately and was shattered

Yes I remember you doing 7 full sets in a day [emoji33][emoji33]

I try to have at least 15 mins between clients, again I work from home so don't want anyone waiting. With juggling kids and clients for the holidays I've been doing 10-12 hr work days at the moments and it's killing me, I'm too old lol

Seems like a pattern! Only 6 days until my little angels go back to school!
I love a routine!!!

I know we're lucky to work for ourselves, especially during the holidays, but I'm cramming everyone into just 3 long days a week so I get to spend some time making sure the kids don't feel totally neglected
Mine don't go back til the 5 September! If I'm honest though I love the lack of routine in the holidays so I don't really mind......just pooped!

I'm doing this as well

I normally make sure I've got 10 minutes in between clients then a 30 minute lunch, but I did less days and one in, one out all last week (just waxing), clients were passing each other on the doorstep, because I was going away for a long weekend.

Come the weekend I just felt quite run down and unwell.

I'm the same for this week and next week then I'm on holiday, but I won't be booking them in like this ever again. The money's great but Im exhausted. I got to the point last Friday where I was grateful when a client cancelled last minute so I got a break!

KK I can really relate to that, Esp the client cancelling and you're grateful bit lol

Sometimes you wonder if it's worth the holiday as it's such pressure before & after

Omg seems like I'm the only one who works for myself and always have back to back clients, sometimes don't get a lunch break - I do find it draining but it's the only way I can fit all my regulars in during peak season! I also find summer hols a nightmare as normally work school hours.

I'm with you! I'm normally back to back from the minute I get in til the minute I leave! Thursday's the worst, normally 10-10 (I'm supposed to finish at 8 but normally work on!) it can be tiring, but I love every minute of it!! [emoji8]

I do back to back with no breaks most days. 9-10 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Though I do beauty though so different treatments and positions all day. I can imagine if you did back to back nails all day for that long you'd feel very sore x

I'd hate to do any one thing for too long. I've just had to make the decision to drop massage from my treatments as my hands are really suffering. It's nice to be able to choose. There are 2 other staff members who are totally capable so while I'm building them up, I'm taking a step back. I've also removed myself from online booking and now all my regs know to call to book or book before they leave.

Life it is a changing [emoji15]

I'm actually considering dropping massage too!! I did a full body the other evening & then I'm really paying for it the next day...... Bad shoulders/aching wrists/ elbows hurt (as I have nerve damage anyway!) I used to do 5/6 A DAY......many moons ago!!! I'm mobile so the lugging & setting up of the couch is a real bind after 15+ years!! I'm considering maybe just doing massage from home! Some People don't realise how physically demanding & strenuous massage actually is!! Us therapists need to look after ourselves!!

I do back to back 40 hours a week in a salon. Absolute killer!!!

I go back to back most days too. As im walking one out the next ones sitting in the salon waiting for me.

I only do 3 (very long mind!) days and hate turning anyone away so id rather work than take lunch, but I do beauty & nails so its very varied & i get to move about a lot. I dropped enhancements from my menu last month & my arms & shoulders have been a lot better since!

Ive only been in this salon since April tho so am still working at getting a clidnt base- hopefully ill do more slightly shorter days soon & get to quaff lunch :) xx

Done 9 today, 12 hour day.

This is not happening again, my shoulders are killing [emoji53]

Your all nails arnt you Blossom? I bet they are!

2 rebals in one day used to do my back in :(

My fave now is spray tans, what with squatting a moving to spray i have a good stretch out lol! Xx

Best thing I did was drop massage, I hate it. It's hard work and really boring (sure those with healing hands will tell me I'm wrong)
I've just dropped my hours from 47 to 38 (like s normal person woohoo)
2-3 years ago I was doing 55-60 a week. I posted about it a few years ago and people weren't too nice about my way of working. I'll be honest I don't feel any less knackered but I don't get ill any more and I have lots of holidays.
So now I'm doing only 4 days and next year I'm going to drop another.
I was working on my own then and building a business and now it's built I only really see regulars, the other girls get all the newbies
