Hi All

I am really interested in the Shrinkies method as it sounds similar to micro rings apart from the heat involved. Can you use the Balmain gun to remove the Shrinkies? do they last well in the hair?

How do you rate the Shrinkies and do you recommend any suppliers and heat wands.
I look forward to your advice!!!

Xx

If anyone can help that would be great xx

What are shrinkies? How do they work?

I trained in these but don't fit them hardly at all. It's a little tube which you put stick tip hair in. when you put heat on them they shrink which is how they're held in. The bonds are very discreet and tidy. The downside is that to remove them you reheat them and they unshrink so if the client uses any heat near the bonds they start unshrinking and can slip out easily. I do know another extensionist that fits lots of sets and doesn't have many problems at all - maybe her clients listen to her advice well !!

How are the shrinkies removed, can you recommend a supplier xx

Hi
I use shrinkies and it's my most popular method in my salon by far. You have to use the correct shrinkies which have an adhesive lining, if they don't have the adhesive lining they are rubbish.

To remove a full head I use my heat connector and remove all the shrinkies, I then use the balmain removal solution in the removal gun to remove the excess adhesive from each strand of hair. Total removal time approx one hour 20 mins.

I sell adhesive lined shrinkies and can send you some if you want to sample.

Hi

Thanks for the info! I am assuming the technique to apply is similar to micro ring apart from adding heat to shrink the tube. Do you recommend a particular wand? Do you have to invest in the Baldwin gun? Also any ideas on who offers courses. I've done great lengths and micro rings. (should I do a shrinkies course) xx

Do the course. Unless you have a certificate in that method you're not insured.

I'm thinking of training in this method too. I'venot seen any when there done i just like to be trained and have knowledge on as many methods as i can

Hi
Yep the balmain gun was about £135 plus vat from Alan Howard's.

I think a few trainers are offering training with shrinkies
