Boots and The University of Manchester have buddied up in the fight against ageing skin as the chain store aims to improve its flagship No7 Protect and Perfect Serum. Boots relaunched the serum earlier this year and claimed to give customers even better anti-ageing results.
The two institutions will work together until 2018 as the research further the processes by which human skin ages. The research will also investigate the effect ageing has on a variety of skin ethnicities.
Ornella Barra, Alliance Boots chief executive, said, "It illustrates our continued commitment to investment and research in the UK, as well as our dedication to ensuring strong product innovation and scientific credentials across our brands. We have already achieved great success with the University and I believe, together, we will help further drive the internationalisation of our product brands."
Chris Griffiths, who is leading the research at the University of Manchester is also excited about the potential of the research. "We can tall a lot about the overall health of a person from looking at their skin - this exciting new partnership will allow us to better understand how we age and why people age at different rates."
Until then...geek on!
