I used to rent a chair in a salon and she has closed salon. Most of the client r happy for me to go to there's.
Do I take my own towels? I would use my own shampoo least I know I've the good stuff!
Do I use a mat to cover there floor? And do you take your own dust pan?
What other bits do you take?

I've been freelancing for around 10 years. When performing chemical treatments I always take my own towels. If just a cut and blowdry, blowdry or hair up, I will have a towel or two with me. Often clients will already have washed their hair, if not I offer to do it for them. After all this time, my clients seem to know the routine and already been advised on the best hair products to use, but I usually have back up just in case. most clients will have their hair done where the flooring is ok to work on or they tend to put a sheet down. I have insurance just in case though!

P.S. I offer to clear up, by nine times out of ten they prefer to clean up themselves

Hi
I always take my own towels for colouring and perming...I have 2 plastic sheets one for the chair and one for the work surface, never thought of one for the floor as always work in kitchen and spills and cuttings clean up easily. I always offer to sweep up after, but use their dustpan and brush, and always clean around sink if I have used it. x

Good practice I suppose just to have them all handy.

I can always leave them in the car and ask if they would like a protective sheet.

I always put a sheet down on the floor and then a chair on top whether I'm just cutting or colouring.. That way I can just pick the sheet up and shake the hair off outside as well as protecting the floor from any colour accidents! .. That way they don't need to clear up when I've gone :) .. I also take my own towels however most clients tend to either wash their hair before I get to them or they use their own towels. X

i used to take a floor sheet for colouring, i bought one from the Federation of freelance hairdressers as this is covered by insurance companies, i didnt take towels though, clients used their own, did take shampoo and conditioner as you will be surprised at how many people dont buy any, and also if doing perms and colours need proper stuff, always ask if they want you to sweep up, normally say no though
