I normaly do an L&P soak off with nails in a bowl, I haven't tried soaking cotton wool in product and wraping in foil, so I wondered what method you guys prefer and which is better... if at all?

i soak off in foil.... its less messy :)

Yeah I prefer the foil method...seems quicker too!

Rub some solar oil into the nails and skin first then use the foil method....it stops the fingers and nails going white from the acetone.

Hi! I use the foil-method too! The foil keeps the acetone warm, which makes it work faster! I also put cut off fingers from rubber-gloves on top of the foil for extra speedy soaking!

whenever i use this method i find the acetone dries up on the cotton pad, and it seems less efficient, is it how im doin it???
i place cotton wool swabs in acetone/product remover, wrapp tin foil around to keep in place on the nail, then warm the hands, but seems to take ages, i tend to favour a soak off bowl method at mo, am i doing it wrong????

definatley foil method, but i prefer to use product remover which is buffered acetone. i dont know what its buffered with, but it works faster and is much better at not leaving the white dehydration marks.
it is more expensive, but i do only soak off as a last resort.
i debulk product 1st also.
i dont use white tips which need to regularly soaked off, so i only seem to need to, when there is slight damage or if there is a centre pocket lift that is being a bit stubborn.

hey i dont know about the foil soak off how ya do it please tell!! took me ages to take off a clients set last week!!!

Coat fingers and nails in solar oil or similar cut 10 squares of tin foil or get hairdressers foil already cut, really soak some cotton wool or pads well in acetone/product remover, fold this so that it is about the size to fit over the product on the finger then wrap the foil over it to keep in place, place hands on a heated pad and leave for 20 mins...no peeking earlier than 20 mins, as this just lets the acetone/product remover dry up and also ends up taking longer. Then use more oil and buff up the nails, unless you are going to be putting on another set of enhancements.

foil method for me, less product, less mess

I use a quick soak bowl which you fill with hot water to speed up the removal time. www.creativenailplace.com sell them.

I use the foil method, I find it much quicker and easier as to soaking the nails in a bowl. Also its not as messy!!!

I put acetone on cotton balls then on finger, wrap with foil and dip in parrafin, wrap with plastic bag and stick hands in elecrtric heating gloves.. works like a charm ( 20 minutes or less) unless the product is not what it seems..lol

The parrafin is just an added bonus, the clients love that you want there nautural nails to look and feel there best..

I use a bowl of acetone in a bowl of warm water. I have used the foil method previously but I prefer to use a bowl as I can keep an eye on what is going on & top up the hot water at intervals.

I Also use the foil method. I was a bit upset last week when i did it for a client and it took hours but when i come on here and asked everyone for help. I have managed to cut the time down alot. I am alot happier now.

I was wondering when you have taken the product off what do you do next. Do you coat nails in oil, buff them them what? as i notice a white residue afterwards. Or do you just leave them.

If I have to remove a full set I use the quicksoak bowl (it's brill and not messy) however if I only have one or two to get off I use the foil method.:)

If you put solar oil or similar on the fingers and nails before using the removal product you will not get the nails or fingers going white. I then buff the nails up afterwards, unless I am going to put on another set.

i find that if a use cnd product remover i dont get the white dehydrated marks, but i do if i use plain acetone.
