Hi fellow geeks

I've popped over from the nail side for some help please.
After a year of bleaching my hair blonde (every 3 months by a salon), I rerecently went back to brunette but my hair seems so very thin now, but I used to have a lot of hair (fine but lots of it).
I use heat protector prior to blow drying and don't straighten it or do anything else really apart from Velcro rollers occasionally.
I use sulphate free shampoo and conditioner too.
Now I don't get my hair cut as often as I should but then I never have done.
What can I do to get my hair back to being thicker and not feeling like I'm losing my hair lol!

Thanks for your advice
Xx

Well its all down to what brands you use and if the product if suitable for your hair type...if you're using the products you can buy from tesco then you may as well be throwing your money down the drain...speak to your hairdresser about having a quasi colour rather than a permanent as this will help somewhat, but also buy products from the salon too.

I use tigi s factor. I don't mind spending the money on decent products but I didn't know if there was a treatment or even if argan/Moroccan oil would help?

:)

Sorry...missed out, you definately need to have it cut, if you dont, no products will help you lol see your hairdresser for a trim at least every 8 weeks.

and yes argan oil is a great product, but it wil only prevent split ends and help repair damage...to thicken your hair up, you need the ends cut off.

Ok thankyou. I will book a cut tomorrow...promise lol!

Just a thought, does it feel like its just thin on the ends, or thinning all over? only ask because if it feel thin all over it may be something more internal rather than external going on....e.g hormones, telogen alopecia, medication. All nowt to worry about but was just wondering.....

Erm not 100% sure actually.
I noticed it mainly because when I wash my hair over the bath my hair looks so much less than what it used to about a year ago. Also when I tie my hair back - it feels like the ponytail isn't as thick. Does that make sense?! Lol

Haha yes it makes sense. Get your hairdresser to have a really good look next time you go. They will be able to judge better the root cause (scuse the pun ) of the thinner hair...
