Hi
I have just got a new job working for a cosmetic company & have to be seen wearing their polishes...but have been using shellac for a while now & dont think i can bear to give it up!! Can i wear a normal polish on top of my shellac? & will it be any longer lasting?? What if i fone my shellac + coat of normal polish + shellac top coat?! I think i have read about this somewhere but cant find it again!! :( also if i used a non-acetone polish remover could i change the normal polish colour without damaging the shellac underneath??
Any answers would b soooo appreciated!
Thank you! XxxX

I usually put another colour on top on a normal shellac manicure haven't tried using varnish under the shellac topcoat although I don't think it would work..
But yes you just remove it with acetone free and you have your shiny shellac underneath still

If you must polish over Shellac, do 1x base, 1-2x top, remove the sticky layer, then apply your polish and REGULAR top coat. It should last as long as the Shellac lasts on your nails.

You could liken it to polishing over gels or L&P's. HTH! :)

Thanks for your advice! Im going to give it a go!!!

yip, i have done this for someone, she wasn't allowed nail polish for her work but she liked to paint her nails for going out and she loved the strength and gloss from shellac, so she got the best of both worlds, she just removed the polish lightly with non-acetone remover and she still had her shellac underneath
