Whats everyones favourite conversation starter with a client? Sometimes i feel like a stuck record asking the same questions over and over again and it got me thinking what others might say to start their conversations!

I just ask them how they are, what they've got planned the rest of the afternoon or what they've been doing, weekend plans,if their treatments for an occasion, these usually lead to something if they are going to family, friends, clubs etc,or they might give simple answer then ask you about your day or plans then I do some talking which can lead into different conversations :) xx

Or if they're a regular, pop a note on their record card if they mentioned anything significant, for example a weekend away, family meals etc and next time you can ask them how it went etc :) clients love it that you remember things xx

also keep note of there tea/coffee they think your fab..

I always just say 'have you got any other plans for the day?' They either talk talk talk or just yes/no if they one word answer I always tell them something that I'm gonna be up to and then they always reply and that gets the conversations going because they won't be rude and ignore what you said to them lol x

Have you ever had any one who hardly talks? I dont kniw what to do in that situation lol i had a client in college the other day who wouldnt keep her head was trying to talk to her and she hardly responded then i said do you enjoy getting your hair and she said no lol x

some people just want to come and relax, i love getting my hi lites done i find it so relaxing, dont take it personally, since having my girlies iv realised quiet time is precious.. so they might be the same

You can normally tell the difference between the clients who want to talk and the ones who only reply out of politeness. The ones who don't want to talk, if your doing something like foils or a colour, ask them if they want a magazine, that way they get their quiet time and you don't feel uncomfortable that they may be bored.

I like my old lady's, it leaves you a bit sad, but really happy at te same time that your the only person they usually see, but it's nice that your in effect their best friend. I always make mine feel like a young girl by being slightly cheeky and asking if they have been to the "disco" on the weekend.

They also love to tell you storys or explain what the local area was like before u were born.

Start with how've you been, then onto been up to much since I last seen you, and finally what you doin this week. Xoxo

Kids! If they have kids you can chat forever telling funny stories about them and their cute habits and stuff!
