Really? Is it a straightner? Im using global keratin but it just takes the frizz out, which is fab and makes it easier for clients to manage x

Yes straighter, 3 strengths and can be left on from 10-40 mins, long process but worth it!!

Hi all

I use Wella Straight, it’s part of the new product range, they now have:
Curl it
Wave it
Straighten it

Its fab! But it’s got sodium hydroxide in that’s also in perm solution, so I don’t know how it would take on bleached hair, or heavily processed hair. Also if you do use this then straighten the hair out first, then apply the colour 2 days after, as the straightener will lift the colour out.

Blue can u used that on bleached hair Xx

Bleach/sensitised
Normal/fine
Course are the strengths available it's amazing even over bleach, but you can't colour for 2 weeks unless using sync x

Shiseido crystallizing straight. Big in Asian countries Ive used it on fine frizzy hair and it came out AMAZING!! so soft poker straight and in great condition. But allow yourself 4-5 hrs for process . They have fine/coloured. or resistant.
Try it out I found results far outdo optismooth

In that case opti smooth is better, 3 hours max

I wouldnt use a chemical straightner now, ive never been a fan, i love being able to create hairstyles with movement and texture and hate the poker straight look, its bad enough using straightners to get this look nevermind it as a permanent thing, a total nitemare to work with in my eyes, i do however use nanokeratin smoothing system , removes frizz but you can still have body in the hair to create beautiful hairstyles

You only get poker straight if you leave it too long to process, my clients always have texture and movement c

Love this topic x

id still much rather use a smoothing treatment than a chemical straightener, i find the process rather dated and would rather enhance the condition with the keratin smoother than apply a chemical straightner, thats just my preference and strive extremely hard to give my clients the best conditioned hair possible

I've had several clients that have had this "smoothing treatment" and they all said opti was better, nicer for them and better condition!

As for the service being dated what does that make blow drying? An antique? Shame I'm of a select few that can really blow dry, it's down to sheer skill

How much do you charge and how long is the full process?

Well dependant on hair length and condition I charge £30 per hour for long and £20 per hour for short takes about 3 hours and they receive 10% off aftercare too if they purchase then

Have a look on YouTube, matrix have uploaded videos about this, their is 3 different thing you can do with just this 1 product! And you get two apps out of each box.

I cant comment on how the results are with opti as ive never used it, im not sure which "smoothing treatments" your clients have been getting as theyre is more than a few on the market just now, some excellent some not so, the one i use is super conditioning, fantastic results on bleached hair as it infuses keratin into the hair, every head had fantastic shine, its great for the elasticity of hair and dramatically improves the reduction of frizz, leaving the hair bouncy and in great condition, making it much easier for the clients to manage, its a product that changes a lot of clients lives in many ways so yea maybe i am bias as its a product i love using, i understand you feel the same about opti, each to their own as they say

Do you do strand testing before you put on the chemical treatment?
I had a friend who had a straightener on their hair and parts fell out! Should her stylist have done this?
