We have a client she been going to our salon for years, today she come in saying she need to talk. As i remember i did her pedicure 3 weeks ago. Today she come in blaming me for causing with a one big Toe fungus. After that she want me to redo her polish on that toe for free and as i remove it for her. She can clearly see her fungus and then start saying " you know what I'm not going to pay u and I'm not ever going to come back , I'm going to someone else who can do mine instead." She then got up saying " I'm going to report you to the state board". As she was leaving. I don't think the fungus was caused by our salon. And how do i deal with customer like this? Was it our fault? How can i deal with customer like this?

Are your hygiene practices thorough and in accordance with your training?
Do you sanitise equipment between every client?
Is every member of staff careful about following the rules for good hygiene?

If you know you are following best practice guidelines, then you shouldn't really have anything to worry about.

She's going to have a very hard job proving this. I don't have my toe nails done and never have as I always wear shoes so just trim them. Last year I got a toe fungus who the hell am I to blame

Yes everything is sanitize we have each set ready for every client. And all the staff is very good at hygiene .

Simba1972: yeah client sometime just give us nail technician a hard time. Even when it isn't our fault. It the first time im dealing with a client like that. I guess work is work you just have to dealt with client like those here and there

if she got it from you, she would have had fungus on all toes...
she can't prove it, but she can definitely report you and you'll have to go through some check ups of the salon sanitising procedures

You are calling it a fungus but how can you be sure ? Fungus is very rare on nails ( although happens more on toes than fingers because of the environment they are in )

She and you would not be able to tell if it was a true fungus unless a culture had been taken and sent off for analysis . You cannot tell just by looking

Was the stain a greenie colour as it is more likely to be the more common 'greenie ' Correct name pseudomonas bacteria . Normally caused when lifting happens and moisture gets trapped between the overlay and the natural nail allowing the bacteria to thrive . The deeper the stain the longer it has been there
