NSS to me is somewhere that doesnt care much for the clients natural nail and is focussed on money rather than quality of service.

BTW, i always use 'The Edge' tip and dip on my own nails, its the only thing that lasts on me!! Lucky really as its the only thing i ever have time to use!! lol.

I also use it on clients when they need a repair on a split in their natural nails. I just apply it to the split not the whole nails, It lasts brilliantly and just grows out undetectable!!

So a dipping systems not all bad!

Ooops. Sorry guys. That just shows my ignorance towards tip and dip - I was under the impression that it was an NSS thing.:o

I totally apologise. I understand that ANY nail system applied by a fully professional trained tech will be good system. I can only assume my clients havent been visiting a good tech for their work.

Really sorry, I didnt mean to offend anyone!:o

Just to clarify a couple of things:

NSS was a term coined a few years ago and it refers to salons that use MMA and most of the technicians do not speak English. This is not a racist issue, just a fact. They actually are not aware they are doing anything wrong. They use their own suppliers and do not read trade mags or visit shows. The drills and masks etc are not an indication as many salons use them. The MMA and what happens to the nail plate is! They are usually cheaper than other salons because their products are MUCH cheaper and they have incredibly fast application techniques.

The 'tip and dip' is a variation on a theme and is not a system that takes no training!! Many professional salons use it very successfully. It is not as strong as l&p, but neither is a fibre system. It has nothing to do with the NSS issue and is a good system in the right hands!

Many women continue to go to NSS salons because they don't have much time/ don't have much money/ don't care much about their own nails because they just want permanent enhancements.

What is the difference between what this thread is about and those that have their legs waxed 'out back' (quick, effective and cheap; hopefully hygenic etc but 'you take your chance') and those that go to a posh spa for the same service (pampered, also effective and much more expensive; super hygenic and super skilled therapists).

Alll service industries will always be the same. 'Cheap as chips' and a bit hit or miss; 'high end' skilled and 'you get what you pay for'.

Just decide which camp you want to be in (I don't mean NSS) and, to be frank, get over it

Dont get yourself down, I've been doing nails for about a 1 1/2 years and the shortest time for me its been 1 and a Half hours. The way I think of it its not about the quantity its about the quality
