As the title says I'm looking for some help if someone would be so kind? :) I had a new client today who had enhancements applied by an NSS salon. She was told they where gel yet after what seem hours if filing I could smell acrylic! I asked if the gel looked like my cnd brisa lite pots and she said no there was a powder aaaargh! Anyway having that established I did not dare take them off as my client then went on about how they used a drill on her natural nail and how it burned!!
So i filed the bulk as much as I could and applied a thin layer of my brisa lite and put shellac Rockstars over the top but I am unsure if I have done the right thing as I am only half way through my level 3 nails having done the shellac and brisa lite courses and I don't know what best to do on my next appointment in two weeks. My client wants to keep the length but eventually just get down to wearing shellac so I am guessing I should just keep applying brisa lite till this awful acrylic grows out, then soak of the brisa and switch to smoothing gel under shellac until we get her nails back to good health? But wanted to check first.
Thanks in advance for any help x

I know how you feel I had a client today who had just come back from America and I told her what she needed to look for etc and she came today saying its shellac !!!! Well it's not the shellac I know and love and was a nightmare to get this stuff off, so I feel your pain today x

I live /work in Ohio. I think I know what you mean. With there being so many other gel brands that market a 'two week manicure', I've noticed that this particular service seems to be coined 'Shellac' whether it's CND Shellac brand or not. I personally have found the gel brand 'Gelish' to be a nightmare to remove but yet this durability is what clients want. Regardless of what gel brand to use, I normally like to say that the gel can last 'for up to two weeks'. I have yet to experiment on durability with regard to whether a proper CND curing lamp is used or not. Not sure if the curing process is altered in any way using another brand name.

I've never found Gelish too difficult to remove but I had problems with someone who came in with Jessica on their nails!

I don't trust what clients think they have on their nails ever and say "I'm really sorry but because I don't know what's on the nails I'll have to charge £15/hour for removal if it takes longer than my usual gelish"

Yes, just let all the old product grow out, keep applying your product until the old is all gone, then switch her over to full Shellac.
If she is wanting a long length, you will more than likely have to using your BL smoothing or BL underneath as Shellac doesn't offer the strength for a client to have long nails usually and this is where you can run into problems if the clients nails are too long for Shellac on it's own.
Of course encourage this client to use Solar oil everyday and this will help her new nail to be in better condition and any products she is wearing. I am a huge believer in cuticle oil and if CND is the brand you use, then Solar oil is the one for you and your client.
I'm a NSI girl:)
