2 day courses are a waste of time and money - there is no way you (or anyone) can learn gel and acrylic in 2 days..... You will definitely need more courses so you're better off doing a decent course first. I would recommend the CND Foundation Course (ring Sweet Squared on 0845 210 6060) for details but there are others.

Put 'training' into the search box on here and see what you find!

soo basically if i did the two day course i wouldnt exactly be able to get a job in nails or anything? i have to do a full course?

You need to practice a hell of a lot to show that you're competent in doing nails. I'm sure you already know this but it's really not a case of sticking a nail tip on and then adding your gel or acrylic and if your course is just 2 days long you will need to do a huge amount of extra research / learning with regards to nail structure, health and safety etc etc. A 2 day course will no way near cover even the basics properly.

I think you will struggle to get a job in a salon straight away after doing nails with just a 2 day course. It is said that you need to do approx 100 sets of nails to really become competent - don't quote me on that though as I'm still learning!

Have you thought of maybe looking at a college course? Some college courses are excellent and you may even get funding due to your age?

I would thoroughly recommend CND though. Other well known companies are Young Nails, NSI, Entity to name a few. Do a search on here and on the internet and look at all of your options. Don't rush into doing any courses that you haven't properly researched because that's when mistakes are made and time and money lost. Remember, there will always be top quality courses running for nails so if you miss a starting date for training there will be another one! I nearly wasted A LOT of time and money on a course that just wasn't that great - it was researching on Salon Geek that pointed me in the right direction - and opened my eyes to this very competitive industry!
