Yeah- im afraid Photoshop isnt going to help at all- and would actually make it a LOT worse- as you'd never be able to claim it were an innocent mistake.
They dont literally send out people looking for images- its sophisticated software that looks for specific collections of pixels- much like a fingerprint- so you certainly cant photoshop out watermarks!
No point risking it- make sure a designer either makes his or her own images- or has the relevant licences for ones that they use.

Yep - there is a company in Israel called PicScout that works on behalf of big stock photo companies like Getty and Corbis; they run web crawler software that trawls the Internet looking for unlicensed images. Both Getty and Corbis have been known to demand hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds in damages for unlicensed use of their photos on websites - in fact a couple of geeks on here were stung by demands from Corbis a couple of months or so ago. So it's not worth it!

Just to throw another spanner into the works ...... you may photoshop an image to remove a logo and think you are in the right ..... BUT, the actual shape of a bottle can be copyright, so even if you remove the brand name, you can still be in breach.
FYI, OPI is a copyright bottle and can be identified under a UV light........
They have done this due to the many fakes available in salons (many chain salons) worldwide, there are gonna be lawsuits flying all over the place in the near future.
