Hi geeks
has anyone else had a problem with the creative nail varnishes taking forever to dry?

I find it with the cream ones the dark colours especially.
I painted my own toe nails last night I applied
stickey
two coats of Bewitched
super shiney
solar speed spray
then after about an hour went to bed, whn I woke up I had the imprint of my covers on them!!! and it's not the first time
any advise would be appreciated
I'm wondering if I''m doing something wrong
I've never had this problem before ,in the past I've used sinful, opi and orly polishes

Did you leave 5 mins or there abouts inbetween each coat as this does seem to help, cant say ive ever had a problem with them

Suzy, can't say I've had any problems there. However when you have one base coat, two layers of colour and one top coat, I usually give between 2 1/2 to 3 hours before completely dry. I also tell my clients this so to avoid little accidents.

In my experience Creative polishes don't seem to dry any quicker, or slower for that matter, than any other professional polishes.

HTH:)

When you apply base coat, enamel and then topcoat it is best to let each layer dry before applying the next :)

...and always ensure you leave at least 1 minute after applying the topcoat before using Solar Speed Spray.

Are you applying the coats of enamel too thickly? 2 thin coats is all that you should need.

thinking of sticking to opi polishes very happy with them orly are good too xx

thanks for your advice guys, maybe I'm applying too thickly as it's only the dark ones with the problem and they are the hardest to apply... maybe I'll also leave it abit longer between each layer

You could try the uv top coat, paint nails as usual then apply uv top coat and pop hand in lamp for 3 mins.

thanks jac I'll try that next time does it effect the polish in any way? I used a quick drying top coat once from hyperian and within a day all the nail varnish had cracked and come off the nail plate I wasn't the only one this happened to
can't remember what it was called tho!!!

I think I am doing that but it seems to be just the dark colours I may be applying it too thickly...
sometimes I find it difficult to get a good coverage especially with the bewitched so I think it must be me!!

I have had bo problems with it.:)

I have phased out Creative nail polishes for this very reason. You are not the only one! xx

Thought I'd just update this post
I took the advice and repainted my toe nails tonight with bewitched I left a couple of minutes gap between layers and waited at least five minutes before appling super shiney that was an hour ago I've just put my socks on and they are not sticking!!!!! seems like I wasn't leaving enough time between layers.

thanks geeks for all your advice x x

Bless ya Suzy xxx

You weren't going mad at all and I'm glad you have managed to resolve the drying problem :green:

What I will say is that we must remember that heat conditions impact on a lot of our services which we provide.

So, for example, if we apply any nail varnish thickly in the cold weather, it won't dry as quickly as it would in the warm weather.

Think of L&P and how some of the different types of monomer react???? some dry more quickly than others!

I'm sure that from time to time there may be a dodgy batch out there on sale - but again at least in this case the mystery has been solved  :green:

by allowing such long times between coats, does this mean you allocate 15 mins to paint?, this seems unrealistic.
Often those really dark colors do take a little longer to dry, perhaps it's the pigments used in them. (just a guess)

it does sound a long time but if it saves the clients coming back with their socks stuck!!! then it'll be worth it
