my friend has bleached her hair and usually uses directions but she does not like the way it fades to pink etc and only last a week as a true red .. and she has seen i have got a colour touch on and has liked the way mine is fading through nice colours but she wants it a little brighter.. her roots need lighting so could i just lighten her roots with a bleach bath as her roots are virgn obv and just develop till desired stage or would it be best to do roots and last few mins just run through to the ends? and would a demi be ok to get that bright red i was looking at rusk 7.6rr but not sure how these will fade as ive only used wella colour touch but i cant see a bright red in this if any one has any advice please? im doing it next week so want to know this will be a good route for her i cant see ehy not as her is good condition etc so the demi should last a good few weeks x

and just thinking it might be a good idea to run bleach bath through to the ends at last min as this has already been lightened but has just been stained by the directions so thought it could lift the red out a little on the ends oh and im thinking i may need to pre pig the roots or will it be ok if i just lift to a orange on the roots so warm on warm will intensify more .. when she bleached her hair before she uses a home kit and lifted to a orange then used directions x

What base is she? I'm guessing she is putting her hair through unnessercary stress and can achieve the same colour using a tint

i havent seen it yet as i am on holiday but when she bleached her hair last time from the pic it looked like a base 6 with orange undertones but obv on the lengths now it has a lot of red staining as she has been doing it for over a year and the roots are a base 4

yes thats what i was thinking but just thinking the best way to go about it and i thought a demi would be good because it will last longer but you cant use a stronger peroxide with it can you and 3% wont lift the roots enough will it to match with the lengths so ill have to prelighten them wont i and she doesnt want a permenant x

Hunny that's why you have different strength peroxides, If it's bright red she wants I'd do like 6.66 or 6rr with red booster like maji mix or so red in matrix, as for not wanting permanent I couldn't give a damn what she doesn't want on her hair because at the end of the day I'm the person that will be able to achieve the colour she wants without wrecking it like she already has done.

oh yea i know that but i mean with demis its3% no higher i obv know if i was to use permenant 6% would lift the 2 shades i need .. and her hair is really healthy and fine as she only ever bleaches the roots and she only used directions red so thats no ammonia etc she just wanted the demi because itll last 28washes where as at the mo the directions only lasts 4-8 washes and the thing with a bright permenant red is it still fades so would still need refreshing with a demi at some point.. im not concerened with her at all its healthy i just wanted to know about the best way to go around lighting her roots x

So lift her roots with 20vol and red permanent and red mix like I said above then use same colour mix on ends but use 10vol instead of 20

and also wanted to know what range is best in demis as wella colour touch does not have the colour im after ive seen one in rusk that i mentioned above but just wondered if any one had 1 to recomend x

but why permenant? as ive got a wella colour touch because i didnt want to commit to the colour long term... and she wants the colour changes as every time you wash its a diffrent tone and my tutor said for intense colours e.g red the quasi/demis are really good as less damaging easy to refresh etc x

i can see where your coming from though as it would save me having to bleach the roots but if she does not want it permenant and the demi is not a good idea then shed be best of sticking to the directions x

I really don't get why she is so against permanent, have you not told her semi's and Demi's build up like a permanent?

She doesn't want a perm colour but bleaches roots-what she is doing to her hair is a permanent process. Be firm with her, u have to be the boss with some clients wether they r friends or not your the professional so be strong and firm in your choices :)

you cant get more permanent than bleach, you are the stylist not her..

make sure she is using the correct shampoo as this could be mega stripping the colour, reds will fade quicker but i would follow blue's advice..

good luck she sounds like a handful xx
