Hi,

I want to start offering a better quality hair option for my 'higher end' clients.

I currently offer Indian remy as my 'standard' option, but if I am to be offering a higher price point option I want to be clear in my mind the differences between this and pre coloured european hair from for example hair development/tasha jacks so I can justify it to clients

I understand the difference in the processing of chinese/indian remy, but can anyone explain the processing of the european hair from donor to colouring - and why the hair is more expensive/lasts longer than my indian remy?

And where is the source of tasha jacks/hair development hair

Hope this makes sense, and sorry for the rambling!

Hey! I don't know your source of Indian remy so it is hard to say exactly how good quality that is. European hair can come from various countries around Europe and varies from company to company as well. The main difference is that it is finer in texture and it comes in a wider variety of colors. Indian hair only comes in black in the virgin state (ie not colour processed) where as European and Russian can come in a wider variety of colors. Therefore when it is dyed to the desired color they pick hair closer to that shade so it doesn't have to be dyed so harshly. Going from natural black like Indian hair to blonde is a very harsh process to the hair. So generally for blonder colors this works best as that tends to be finer as well. But for some darker colors nothing really beats virgin Indian or Brazilian hair. It really does depend on your clients natural hair.

Also European hair comes with a slight wave which is beautiful when air dried! I know tasha jacks buys all their hair in a virgin state and then dyes it in house through a very gentle process in order to maintain the integrity of the hair. So one of the reasons it lasts longer Is it has not gone through harsh processing. They are very happy to explain this if you call them up. They also coat it with special protection which makes the hair look silky for longer.

The European hair is great for finer textures hair like we do have here in Britain for the most part so it really looks natural. It really depends on your clients hair structure but the European hair generally looks better as it blends better with finer hair. You need to be careful when buying European hair however as many sell so called European hair but it is actually Indian or Chinese hair processed to look like European hair but will loose It's identity after just a few washes.

But to be honest the best way I sell it is just to show them and let them feel it. You really do feel and see a difference between the hair from Tasha Jacks for example to hair from Celebrity elite which is premium Indian hair.
