I was lucky enough to attend the CEW event held in London earlier this year and despite working in the industry, I was still blown away by the simple fact that, while beauty can be dismissed as froo-froo and fluff, it's also doing a lot of good stuff.
Every year CEW(UK) present a special award to the man or woman who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry and the advancement of women in their beauty careers. This year, the award has been given to Kenneth Green, Chairman of Kenneth Green Associates.
Having started his career in the beauty business with Parfums Christian Dior, Green went on to grow Yves Saint Laurent fragrance. Later he joined the Revlon Group as Chairman of the British company and quickly became President of the European and African region.
In 1990, Green launched his own company, Kenneth Green Associates. Initially a consulting business, it grew into one of the largest perfume and beauty distributor companies in the world, representing leading brands in the prestige category.
