Please could someone help me because Im not really at my wits end.

I've had terrible problems with L+P on my niece (i use cnd and yes Im trained). Her nails never seem to last always breaking or lifting.

So two weeks ago I spent over two hours doing a set of one colour tips. I prepped to within an inch of my life, did oval tips so no corners could be knocked off, built a fabulous apex for strength, they looked lovely.

last night went back for an infill, :Scared: she had lost three completely, the other 7 were hanging on by the tip literally. I had to remove the lot. I was literally openingly crying. Why would this happen.

Her nails are bendy beyond belief and shine like a babies bottom. Her hands are very dry and almost rough looking. However this time she wore gloves for washing up every time and used solar oil and cnd hand cream religiously and I believe her because the acrylic on the tips was beautiful, soft and butter like. What can I do next for her. Shellac chips straight away. Is it time to give up because its seriously upsetting me and not fair to her. I was even going to pay for her to go to another tech to see if it is my fault.

Was thinking about brisa sculpting gel when it comes out but Ive read gel is not for bendy nails. Any advice would be great Im losing sleep over this as you can see from the ridiculous posting time  xx

Could you give us more info on your prep procedure?

What do you mean by the ends of the nail enhancements that are left are soft and butter like? L&P should not be that soft! Forgive me if I've understood incorrectly!

Does she have the same problem when she puts polish on her own nails? I'm not certain on this one but maybe it's due to her hormone level, when I did my training, I got told that fluctuating hormone levels can cause L&P to lift - especially when somebody has just started taking the contraceptive pill, if they are pregnant or going through the menopause. It doesn't happen in everybody but could be a cause....?

sorry hun my explanation is crap lol. what i was trying to say by soft like butter was that she had obviously been using solar oil and gloves because if she had had them in excessive water they would be dry and brittle. I always think that if the acrylic is nice and soft and easy to file the nails have been looked after properly.

After posting this I rang sweet squared and spoke to one of the operators. they told me to use nail fresh (which i had already done) and then subsequently told me to use nail prime as well. They said even tho I use retention + this was fine and they thought it sounded like she had an excessively oily nail plate due to the shine. so I am going to give nail prime a go. i also have another lady with nails exactly the same and she loses her shellac very very quickly. xxx

Hmm interesting hun she is trying for a baby and has been for quite some time and i didn't know so perhaps her hormones are all over the place. thank you this could be an added problem with her nails xxxx
