Is their any good video that show the correct way to apply products to face I am on facial in my course and just want to see his it's done

My basic facial routine goes like this
1. Superficial Cleanse
2. Deep Cleanse & Skin Analysis
3. Exfoliation
4. Massage
5. Mask
6. Tone
7. Moisturize / SPF
8. Eye Cream/Lip Balm
Its can also be a nice idea to give a little hand massage during the mask.

Ill search for a video now for you :D

Sorry cant find a video but happy to answer any other questions you have :D

Hi I'm also on the facial part of my course but it doesn't say anything about exfoliating just a general cleanse tissue off repeat facial sauna the blackhead removal splash the face with cool water dry apply mask rinse off mask and massage the face?
Also confused on how long you should spend in each step it doesn't state any times Thanks on advance and hope you don't mind me jumping in on This post x

What kind of course has a facial unit but doesn't demonstrate application of product or rough timings?!

I find the facial hard as not sure how to tell the different skin types

Martin I'm doing a distance learning course so it's all in words in a book with pictures

I see. I think you'll find attaining a proficient level of treatment in facials by words and pictures alone a nigh on impossible task. There's so much that can only be learnt by hands on tutoring, such as identifying skin conditions, the correct level of touch-pressure etc etc. Out of interest, if it is all by book, how is your final level of practical proficiency tested?

I'd be interested to know if your final qualification will allow you to have insurance to carry out treatments on the public for payment. When we did facials on nvq level 2 and 3 we had practicals every session, I don't think I would have had the confidence to carry out the treatment without having my technique checked.

Im sure my course tutor wont mind as she has put a facial routine on youtube

Search "Lauras facial routine" and theres 5 or 6 different videos including the massage techniques etc

x

I've now qualified and my insurance does cover me for carrying out this treatment for payment google it all and you're find stonebridge is a college that is common and recognised qualifications by the guilds. And as for my final I had to be recorded . And as for practicals every session I had to practise too using family and friends so that's my practicals . Thanks for the encouragement and help though guys

Thanks daniy21 il look her up

Of course not but I've trained and worked my hardest I didn't just half heart do it and I was just posting for some genuine advice not to be shot down about the course I was doing not everyone has the opportunity and time to go to college 5 days a week full time

And as for practicals every session I had to practise too using family and friends so that's my practicals .

The problem is that unless you are being watched whilst practicing by someone who is not just qualified, but also experienced, you have no idea if what you're doing is right, let alone industry standard! I have no doubt you applied effort to your learning, but unless someone who knows what they are doing is standing over you watching every step then you will never gain proper proficiency in performing industry standard treatments.

I've been in the industry since the late 90's and I've never known a salon that would seriously consider employing a distant learning student as its a complete unknown quantity.

Hey the original poster had a genuine query.

She shouldnt have to justify her method of studying etc. The debate around qualification routes is for another time and place.

Lets support and help each other in our chosen profession xx

Sadly, I have come across a number of therapists who have been to beauty school, done the qualifications incl practicals but had little idea of routine for facial, how to do consultation and how to do massage. Thankfully, there are post-grad courses which teach you these. As for recognising different skin types, that comes with practice - lots of it.
