Dear all,

I know some months ago fakebake went into liquidation - I had a really bad experience at this time, and was given promise after promise regarding my order. I was messed about, and ended up loosing about 3 weeks of treatments as a result. Since that time, I have spoken to fake bake to express my concerns with their customer service...they really dont seem sympathetic (or loyal!) at all with how they treat their customers. I have had bad experiences with fake bake prior to the liquidation too, and I'm at a loss with the company.

What I am asking you guys is, have any of you switched to a different tanning solution for your spray tanning? If so, what are you using, and how do you find it? I have read other threads, but I just wondered whether more people had made the switch since the whole drama of the fakebake liquidation?

I hope I don't sound too harsh, but my confidence in the company has totally gone. I hope this threas finds you all well :)

Thanks,
xxx

Yeah, I can't get any more product from them. I'm going to be looking at Nouvatan - they're not in the shops!

Oh thanks Lynne, I will have a look at Nouvatan - if I find any good info out about them I will let you know :) . It's such a shame with fake bake. The product is excellent, but their customer loyalty is shocking - considering that this is one of the higher end brands! Hope you are well. xxx

Before liquidation i had numerous issues with customer service, since the take over every call has been returned & had no issues with them or their stock.

I seen to always get the same lady answer my calls too, so thats either pure chance or staff cut backs. I think the latter as they have closed down their local branches.

Hope im not jinxing myself here ;)

That said, when I had problems around the time of liquidation i tried suntana & nouvatan. Nouvatan was by far my next best thing to FB. Infact I have 3 clients who prefer it, so i will keep running it alongside for those ladies.

Xx

Lynne you take it on :).A great product needs a great distributer.

Nouvatan is great, lovely colour fades well and its a good price.

Hell, I don't think I'm anywhere near experienced enough to take that on!
But I might just give them a ring...

Oh thanks Steph86, that's really helpful, and im pleased your clients like a different product too! :) xxx

I know they are having problems getting some products from the usa atm as i have been chasing up an order on the gold lotion but they have been brill in customer service to me and i didnt use them before liquidation. I would hang in there a little will as when adminastrators are called in everything ends up in the air for a bit as lots of new things need to enforced and seeing what is required when the previous owners hasnt kept up means there is a back log tor a while and it could be they have had to put in a huge order to the factory which the factory then is able to meet as easily as usual

I also love famous dave tanner as it develops into a true honey golden colour its so natural that when my tan from fd fades i dont think its my natural colour!

Another salon-only tan that won't be available in the shops is 'Kissed by Mii', newly launched by Mii Cosmetics (distributed by Gerrard International). It uses marine minerals, coral seaweed and coastal flowers, and the moisturiser and scrub smell gorgeous. My Jessica rep gave me a demo yesterday and I was very impressed, the self-tan mousse and cream had no smell on application and none on developing, which amazed me!

I think at the moment they have a moisturiser, scrub, lotion and mousse self-tanner (light, medium and dark), a daily gradual tanner, a wash-off cosmetic tanning cream (waterproof except to soap), and a spray tan solution. The packaging is very classy and stylish, and the retail self-tans come with gloves inside (colour-coded to the packaging).

I tried the light and medium shades and have to say they really impressed, so I'm putting all my St Tropez up at cost-price to shift it and I'm moving over to 'Kissed by Mii' as my new tanning range - very excited!!
