Has anyone tried Davinas new workout DVD 'intense' ? X

Yes, it's based on high intensity interval training and gobbles up the calories much more quickly, obviously, than the more traditional form of 'Steady state' exercise. I highly recommend it.

I do HIIT twice a week :) it's been around for years but Davina has just re packaged it ;)
On treadmill
5 min warm up
1min at 7.5mph
2min at 5.7mph
1min 7.5mph
Repeat till you have done 10 sets ;)

well done ladies for keeping up the hard work, i had a pooper of a night, i scoffed half a block of cheese because i decided my thinspiration was going to be to apply for Britains next top model and i've just found out i'm too old! haha so i stuffed my face

Is anyone using fitness dvds to burn the calories at home, as an addtion to their weight loss programme? Am finding the interval training types particularly helpful. Having tried a few, I'm liking the new 'Davina Intense' and another lesser known one called '60 Second Promise.'

They certainly chomp the cals and keep on doing so for longer after the session has finished, plus the actual session itself takes less time than an hour's 'Steady state' exertion would for the same 'Rewards'! That's what I've been reading, anyway, and my HRM appears to agree.

Would be interested to hear your findings/recommendations.

I have the older davina 3 30 mins and love it!

I found last year when I used it over a few months combined with a good diet the changes in my body were amazing

I started back to it on Monday and did the kickboxing session which is brilliant you feel like such a warrior woman lol

I tend to us them when I cant get outside to exercise or I feel my body needs a bit of a shake up or I have a lot of extra energy

I have to be careful what time of the day I use them as they leave me so high after

I started (again) on my fitness pal yesterday ... What a fab app!... I've added all who gave their user name, I'm nicolaluise ... Lets do this together girlies!

Right I'm off the gym for a yoga class ;)

I keep injuring myself. My dodge knee is feeling better so I wanted to go back to body pump tonight but I've injured my shoulder at salsa!! ARGH. So annoying. I'm gonna have to go do another class instead that doesn't involve lifting weights. I might go and do some cardio in the gym then a gentle swim and see if I can loosen the sucker up.

On the positive, I've been good with food this week and haven't been feeling hungry all the time which is great.

Salj you should try yoga or
Pilates to strengthen the muscles, less chance of injuries then. Apparently footballers and golfers (and probably other sports people) do yoga to decrease injury chances ;) xx

yeah? I wonder if it's because I haven't been doing as much exercise as I used to so I get injured easier? I might try yoga, I think they do it at my gym. thanks.

Well done CHarvey xx

Well done x

I haven't had the best of weeks so far. Yes my food intake has been good but I have also consumed some alcohol and chocs!! :(

But yesterday I told my children I'm back on it and if they see me going to be naughty to shout!! Fair play they will too ha,ha!
I made my own fat free chips for tea last might which are lush and I love them, don't know why I stopped having them really! I also made a sugar free jelly for me to have after tea should help with the sweet tooth!
Not going to weigh until next week no point in just half a week's work!

I've started back at the gym today. I've been drinking loads of water and have been eating much better. I'm going to weigh myself at the end of the month. I've been reading the other thread about healthy eating and have gotten some fantastic ideas on food so fingers crossed I will have some good results at the end of the month.

They are fab! And so easy to do :)

Peel and chip your potatoes as you would if you were frying your chips. Place them in a microwave proof dish and cook for around 7-9 mins.

Pre heat your oven on a hot temp (the hotter the better), once chips have cooked in micro put them on to an oven tray or I use a mesh tray for chips (bought in my local pound shop) and spray with one cal fry light spray.

Cook in the oven for around 10 mins or untill crispy.

Eat with just about anything and enjoy :D x
