Hi I have acrylics on and every time I apply my gel (ibd) it literally just peels off. Now I don't use a base coat as I was under the impression it wasn't needed. And the good news for me is that this doesn't happen to my clients just on myself. Last time i was mega careful I did a super thin layer and cured for 60 not 30 and it's still happening. Can anyone advise me on what it could be please?

Are you possibly buffing them too smooth? I use a 180 grit then apply my polish

I did think about that too but this time i applied it straight after 100/180 file and I didn't buff at all. Still happen!!

Some gels still need a foundation before application on acrylic. I would try that first.

I will try for sure. But i don't use a base on clients either and it's not happening to them! It's so weird

Is it every nail or just a few? x

At least half I would say but the thing all go weird in some way or another on me.

I'd use a Base coat all the time, the thing you don't use on top or acrylics is the fast bond. X

I use ibd gels. I file with a 180 grit emerald file, remove dust, apply gel. I do not normally use a base but if you are having problems I would try it out. It is not going to hurt. Here is a link where she adds gel polish to acrylic.

I'm in the same situation! It's not on every client but seems to only happen to a select few every time. I use ibd too and have tried using Base coat and no based coat first and each time it's made no difference. It's really bugging me x
