Hi, I am just wondering what is overlay on natural nails? If you already have long nails why would you want gel on them if you aren't putting a tip on. And if they just want a gel colour on to help chipping is that just called a gel polish? and is £20 a normal price for gel polish?

Hello!

Some clients prefer gel overlays over a tip or sculpt as it gives the nail a protective coating that is stronger than gel polish. Furthermore, overtime natural nails begin to produce their natural oils which causes product to lift, so having that gel underneath can also help clients who are problem lifters. Gel polishes will have much more staying power on nails that are healthy, strong and have a nice thickness to them, which some clients may not have naturally! Are you talking about a price in a salon? Because that depends on where you live, etc. Check other salons prices and work from there! As for purchasing them at supply stores, it really depends on where you shop, etc. but I buy CND Shellac for about 19.99 a bottle! Hope I helped
