Hey!
I did A mood changing gel polish on a girl on Monday and she's just contacted me saying 3 have chipped quite badly. I haven't had this problem with my gel polishes before but she has mentioned that she's a trainee hairdresser, so spends most of her time washing hair! I'm presuming this is the problem, if her hands re constantly in water it's bound to have an effect? I'm going up to fix them later so can have a better look just wondering what ye think!

I'm a nail tec and when I do a shellac on myself it never lasts two weeks because I dont wear gloves when washing up. Even though shellac is tough.. to much water exposure can damage the product. Three days is pretty fast for it to chip though. Did you ask her if she has exposed her hands to any chemicals? Also what make are you using?

Hi there!

I do nails for my best friend and she is a hairdresser, if she has gel on her own nails it lasts around 4 days - no joke! And that's at a push!

She now gets plain arclyics and I do gels for her over the top - there really isn't much that she can do to stop this its just the nature of her job!! X

I didn't ask her about the chemicals but I will thanks! Yeah I'm the same never get 2 weeks but yeah I thought 3 days was very quick too!
I used Perfect Match!

Oh really okay! That gives me a bit more confidence And how do the acrylics last on her? Would the chemicals etc cause them to lift or anything or do they hold tough? X

Nope the acrylics last fine and she just gets them infilled every 2-3 weeks and she doesn't even get them painted she comes straight to me and I then do all the art, she noticed the colour would go with normal polish over the acrylics so that's why I do the gels :)

If you do a consultation before the appointments, mine ask their profession, if they do sports etc. If she said she constantly had her hands in water I'd have advised against gel polish. Aftercare also advises against soaking hands in water
